Multiple accounts in IB, Will one margin impact the others?

So I would guess that they do the margin calculations based on account-by-account, so if there is a margin call in one account they will not let your equity in another account save you. BUT if one account goes negative so that there is negative equity, they can strip your other accounts...

What risk management mistake did optionsellers.com fund manager do to blow up his fund and clients?

So question for you guys. He was targeting 25%+ returns annually. I assume that made him sell more options than if he was targeting, say 10% annually. If he had ratcheted down his target returns to 10% annually, and reduced his option sales accordingly, would he have wiped out his/investors...

Optionsellers.com goes bust and the apology video is painful to watch

Wow, OUCH! I do feel sorry for the guy, at least a little. I'm sure he thought he had it figured all out. Was making money for himself, and his investors. Then BOOM his life is forever changed, and will never be the same. Fuuuuuu.

Optionsellers.com goes bust and the apology video is painful to watch

So, is the apology video anywhere out there still? Seems to have been pulled - wise move no doubt given the lawsuits coming. But I'd sure like to see it!

    Optionsellers.com out of business?

I, for one, truly want to know how Sweet Bobby does it. How the firms and people using a similar strategy crumble around him, destined for a life of poverty and pain, yet Sweet Bobby stands there like the Rock of Gibraltar, hands held high clutching thousand dollar bills. How, JUST HOW?!?

Is there a place to find historic VIX implied 30-day volatility?

Yeah now I'm even confusing it myself. The VIX you can get historical quotes on pretty easy I believe. But what I don't think you can get is the 30 day implied VIX based on the futures markets that all the volatility funds, TVIX, VXX, etc. seem to follow. Just seem so much different and harder.

Does anyone know whether this chart picks up dividends paid?

Oh I see, it won't let you go back more than 5 years. Still, that is helpful, but the question remains whether the relative performance includes dividends. It certainly should to be useful, let me see if I can test it to confirm.

Does anyone know whether this chart picks up dividends paid?

Well, it clearly doesn't go back all the way - I compared IVV and SPY and it only went back to 2014, even though they have both been around far longer. Any idea how to make it do what I was thinking it was doing? And any idea whether it included dividend performance in any event? Thanks!

Does anyone know whether this chart picks up dividends paid?

Would it tomorton? I would think the chart would just go back 3 years, to the start of the newest one. It would then show them as identical over that time. Anything else is nuts. We need to find some ETFs that are based on the underlying but that started at different times and compare them...

Does anyone know whether this chart picks up dividends paid?

Not sure I follow you tomorton. That chart I thinks looks at two securities, and goes back in time to the date the newer of the two came into existence. So you can compare the two from the inception of the latest to come into existence. I'm just asking if the comparison they give includes...

Does anyone know whether this chart picks up dividends paid?

This chart was introduced to me by treeman awhile back. https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=VUG%3ADVY&p=W&yr=5&mn=0&dy=0&id=p58223850526 It is very useful in my mind as you can pick two stocks or etfs or whatever and it very quickly clearly shows you their relative performance over time...

Is there a place to find historic VIX implied 30-day volatility?

VXX, VIXY, TVIX, UVXY, among others, are all supposed to be keyed to the implied 30-day VIX volatility. I'm sure I'm not saying this exactly right. But anyways, is there any place that shows what that implied 30-day volatility is, hopefully both currently and historically? Thanks!

    Anyone follow 'vader7x' on twitter?

I am not a twitter guy, but I signed up to check out this vader7x guy. I'm not seeing very helpful tweets where he is saying "but this level" "sell this level", etc. Just a bunch of random stuff: are we back to the CNBC turmoil lows 2745+ nice overshoot area.. before we stall again 2733.50...

Why aren't VIX calls more expensive right now?

I have some VIX November 40 calls. I bought them when the VIX was down in the like 12s or maybe eve lower. VIX is now around 24, and any little thing could potentially send the VIX spiraling higher, way over 40. Still plenty of time left. But these calls cost LESS than when I bought them...
