Time to invest in gold... if so what vehicle?

This would be investing at least relatively long term, not trading. What about physical gold coins, etc? Thanks!!!

Time to invest in gold... if so what vehicle?

Is it a good time to invest in gold? My portfolio is pretty much exclusively stocks. I figure I need to diversify, and per my understanding 35% of the U.S. dollars in existence were printed last year it seems to me inflation HAS to come soon. If you agree its a good time to invest in gold...

Santelli vs Sorkin - Masking Debate

Guy on right absolutely schooled guy on left. Guy on left had nothing, just an "I'm smarter than you" approach and is a dumbass dipshit. Pardon my French.

Does a market if touched order trigger if open is about touch point?

Thanks userque. I saw that, but elsewhere where I read about it it seems to suggest ots only triggered if there is an actual trade at the price you specify, which is contrary to what you posted. I searched the IB website and didn't find any further clarification. Guess I'll have to call IB...

Does a market if touched order trigger if open is about touch point?

Just reading about orders, I see there is a market if touched order. Very close if not exactly what I am looking for in one respect. Let's say stock is at $10. I place a market if touched buy at $11 tomorrow. I assume that if stock opens at $11, or opens below $11 and runs up to $11, it will...

What kind of orders would these be in IB?

I want to place an order at night, that let's say a stock closes at $10. I want to set a buy order at a price above it. Say $11. If the stock opens at or below $11, and hits $11, then my order, either a market or one of their new mid price orders, is triggered to buy. If it opens above $11...

    Gold vs VIX

Yeah gold being an inflation adjusted thing by its very nature, and VIX not at all, seems to kill any interest I might otherwise have in this lol.

Isn't buying dividend paying stocks for chumps?

Thanks DTB2. What is "Portfolio 1" in that chart? Thanks!

Isn't buying dividend paying stocks for chumps?

So long term capital gains rates (23.8%) applies to gains when you sell your shares, or dividends. But when you sell your shares, you get to offset the gain with the amount you paid for the shares. Not so with dividends. So yes, I would argue companies paying dividends is foolish, so long as...

Isn't buying dividend paying stocks for chumps?

Got a link? I remember looking for things that DID NOT plummet in 2008, and I remember looking at dividend stocks and seeing they got totally flattened as well from what I could tell. I.E. at a time when you REALLY needed them to hold up the most they did not.

Isn't buying dividend paying stocks for chumps?

"Preference in dividend stocks make sense in countries with capital gain taxes." What? Tax on dividends in U.S. is generally at least equal to capital gains tax rate...

Isn't buying dividend paying stocks for chumps?

So, it makes sense to pay the dividend is you think the people who you pay the dividend to have 31% better expertise/ability to make more money on that than you the paying company does (thats 1/(1-.238)) for cap gain and NII tax. I'd guess that, realistically, is VERY rare lol. If you think...
