What's up with Yahoo finance's "Crowded Hedge Fund Position" watchlist?

Haha so funny Nobert, when I saw those symbols I thought the exact same thing! But I dunno, maybe because we are thinking that such is what most people are thinking and thus they are underpriced, hence why, apparently, hedge funds are interested in them? I've been buying just a little bit of...

What's up with Yahoo finance's "Crowded Hedge Fund Position" watchlist?

Does anyone follow this? Here is a link: https://finance.yahoo.com/u/yahoo-finance/watchlists/crowded-hedge-fund-positions?.tsrc=fin-srch If you look at the 3 month returns vis a vis the SP500, you would say WOW, this is a goldmine. However, I've noticed their numbers on daily performance...

Has anyone looked at long term strategy of looking at just buying real growth/low money printing?

Thanks sef88. Again, in my scenario I am not buying futures. Just like I'm not buying options. Or pork bellies from outer space. I direct you again to my question. Thanks!

Has anyone looked at long term strategy of looking at just buying real growth/low money printing?

So what does that matter if I am not trading the futures? I see (just for example, made up) that the futures markets are predicting Swiss Francs (not K, thanks!!!) will go up versus the dollar. So I buy stocks of companies on a Swiss stock exchange. If the futures markets turn out right in...

Has anyone looked at long term strategy of looking at just buying real growth/low money printing?

Thank you sef88. I am googling this cash and carry, but can you explain why it would effectively stop the strategy I typed? Thanks!

Has anyone looked at long term strategy of looking at just buying real growth/low money printing?

So, now I'm confused. I googled long term Sessie-Dollar prices, and found this: https://www.macrotrends.net/2558/us-dollar-swiss-franc-exchange-rate-historical-chart Sure enough, 1.54 back in 2002 looks about right. But look at present time. It is at about .8855. But in my link further...

Has anyone looked at long term strategy of looking at just buying real growth/low money printing?

Another newb question Sig. So do I understand these prices correctly? https://www.barchart.com/futures/quotes/S6*0/futures-prices 1 Swiss Frank now gets 1.11 dollars, but at the end of 2025 it is forecasted to get 1.18 dollars more/less. So it is forecasted to increase in value versus the...

Has anyone looked at long term strategy of looking at just buying real growth/low money printing?

Oh wow I see now Sig, at least I think. Since I've never traded currencies, I always forget that they are futures based. In my mind I'm always thinking, for example, if the U.S. is printing money like a drunken sailor, and the Swiss are being monetarily very responsible, low monetary growth...

    Silver/SLV

Any chance you can explain the differences briefly for me ZBZB? I've seen that view espoused before! Thanks!

Has anyone looked at long term strategy of looking at just buying real growth/low money printing?

Are you sure about that "The relative interest rates of two currencies is the sole factor determining the forward/futures price of that currency pair" statement Sig? I know little about FX, but that sounds very wrong to me - can't things like inflation, international travel, etc. etc. play a...

Has anyone looked at long term strategy of looking at just buying real growth/low money printing?

I know that lots of factors can go into what makes the exchange price of various currencies go up or down. But, in my mind, if you can find a country that has better real growth, and less money supply increases (i.e. less inflationary pressure) over the long haul versus another currency the...

    GME - should I short, and why can't I

Thanks BMK, I fixed the "can't", that was indeed my intent!

    GME - should I short, and why can't I

So, I read this posted somewhere: If you guys haven't been following the GameStop Stock Shit-Show, you really need to look into it. This is fucking hilarious. Allow me to catch you up. So this hedge fund called Melvin Capital wrote out some douchey article about how the smart investment move...

Time to invest in gold... if so what vehicle?

Time to invest in gold... if so what vehicle?

Thank you narafa! On the leveraged products, I am aware of their tendency to drop in price a bit over time given their leverage. Seems the best idea might be to short the short leveraged products if one wants to go long. :)

Anyone else sensing that we are going to have a (further) melt up?

I get the feeling that, even though the market has been up huge lately, it stalled in recent weeks, given the political uncertainty. It being up big today is just the start. I get the feeling its going to melt up and leave a LOT of people out in the cold. Anyone else getting this feeling? I...

Time to invest in gold... if so what vehicle?

Thanks Nine_Ender - so Toronto exchange - do you think the miners are more valuable there than the ones on the U.S. market? Or you just pay attention to those ones as you are Canadian maybe? Thanks!

Time to invest in gold... if so what vehicle?

Thanks a bunch narafa! Just so I know, why do you recommend GDX, but not the leveraged gold miners or I guess the "junior" gold minors, and not GLD? If I buy into any form of gold and there IS this run on gold, however unlikely, would be a GOOD thing for me, right?

So I know this is mostly a trading forum, but I was really talking about longer term investing.
