    Intra Day Trading Options

Because if trying to day-trade options as a long-term strategy, the fees and spreads - no matter how tight - will eventually counter almost any edge. Cost efficiency is a very important part of winning the game.

    Starting out NOW

Huge mistake. Return the funds to your wife until you can fund your own ride, and are a proven winner. Why put her hard-earned money at risk so that you can prove something to yourself? Quite frankly, there's nothing in your post that gives me any confidence that you know what you're doing...

Stop Loss When Selling Put Options

There is no assurance that you will be able to exit a position before you lose your investment, or far more than your investment. You aren't protected for overnight risk.

House vs. Property Taxes In Multiple US States?

Income taxes in the state in which you officially reside. Property taxes in each state where you have property. Estate taxes upon your death. There is no escape.

Literature on allocation across multiple strategies on the same asset

If you have multiple positive strategies that overlap with differing timeframes on the same instrument...there is no law against trading two accounts. I've done it for years. And I'm still a free man.

Why is not everyone doing this?

Brokerages, exchanges and trading shops love to promote pairs trading, because they'll have you churning away your account with multiple positions searching for an illusive profit that will always seem just out of reach.

Taking all of the trades vs taking trades/selling based on feelings.

Thus, your problem is cutting your gains short and letting your losses run. Which is, of course, precisely the opposite of what you need to be doing. Your excuse is that you're not a robot and that most traders have the same problem. Doesn't sound to me like you're ready to be successful.

Taking all of the trades vs taking trades/selling based on feelings.

If you have a system that works, follow it. I can honestly say that in 14 years of trading, the trades in which I inserted my feelings or opinions have been the cause of my vast majority of losses. No matter what the cause of my actions - whether to capture early profits, avoid losses, feel in...

What is the best platform for backtesting?

All trading platforms are data dependent. Garbage in, garbage out. Before blaming your software, be suspicious of your data.

Interview with 'Market Wizard' and hedge fund veteran, Linda Bradford Raschke

This is a very good interview for new traders to help them remember that: - Nobody knows nothin' - Do you own work - What anyone else knows or does is of little value to you - Markets and instruments will always change - There is no easy path - Master one small technique or process as a foundation

    Best hedge against market drop

Exactly. Cash is a position. If a trader is concerned enough about the market to be paying high rates for protection, the trader should consider going partially or fully to cash.

I predict SPX to go up 5% or down 5%, can I benefit from this?

A 5% move over 90 days isn't going to make anybody money in a straddle. A 5% move in a few days, possibly. But that is not the question the OP is asking.

I predict SPX to go up 5% or down 5%, can I benefit from this?

No. Not unless you can call that move within a day or two, and it happens suddenly. The odds of you making that precise prediction are the same as the odds that you will profit. Which is close to zero.

When to get out of a failing option trade?

I am forced here to interject one of the more valuable lessons I've learned over the years: NEVER SHORT A DULL MARKET Sorry to yell like that, but I needed to get your attention.

What can I do about insider trading activity in stock options that cause financial harm?

Not for a single trader. But the SEC does like it when there is a trail of bread crumbs they can follow. And that typically starts with someone bothering to file a report.

If you are entering orders to be filled at market open the next day, they can all be entered as Market Orders AFTER the close of the previous day. They will then fill at the market open in the morning. But be certain to not have after-hours orders enabled in trader workstation. If you want...
