    Bitcoin thread anyone?

Not a hotel I want to check into. When you say harder to withdraw USD, do those with offshore accounts or non-nationals of the US have an easier time transfering to their bank?

Can you easily sell into the MtGox price? If so, in what sense is it bogus?

REPORT: SAC Capital Will Pay Over $1 Billion As Insider Trading Penalty

Explain it to kids in kindergarden in NYC and they'll all ask you for his lead attorney's name and number in case they need him some day. Our society has decided that white collar crime is a risk/reward proposition and that, by and large, if you make enough money before you get caught to...

Price Action Strategies All Break Down

I think the quote that reinforces your point is "life's a box of chocolates ..." I don't trade ATS but I'm curious if anyone here that does would give back three years of earnings in a month without shutting it down well before they went that far? There is no discretionary trader that could...

REPORT: SAC Capital Will Pay Over $1 Billion As Insider Trading Penalty

He remains a stupendously wealthy man and can still trade his capital. Not such a bad spot to be in.

Son of If You Can Draw a Straight Line . . .

I may not subscribe to every point made in Gringo's post but rather than nitpick my small points of disagreement I'll just say that it's an important post and goes a long way in describing an important edge you can own from day one. To put it in poker terms you do not have to worry about mixing...

David Tepper "Fed is not going to cut stimulus near term"

I think there are any number of scenarios -- few if any of them good ones -- that could result from the nonsense we as a society have produced. The one you describe is not far fetched. And I do agree that the social part of the price tag is worth talking about

How are ES (S&P500 mini futures) settled? Interactive Brokers.

IB is, if not the top of the heap, at least very close to the top. You will get reasonable treatment there. Concentrate on your trading not the scary zombies in the closet. They are a legitimate FX market maker with fairly reasonable spreads and a decent reputation.

How are ES (S&P500 mini futures) settled? Interactive Brokers.

Stop with this nonsense and get a grip. They are the largest independent -- not bank owned -- clearing firm in the US. They have worldwide reach and execute on every major exchange across Europe, Asia, North & South America. Learn something about this business beyond paranoia. There are...

Can you get a mortgage if you are a trader?

I read once that during the 50 year period of the Victorian era, when GB was at its peak of power and prosperity, home prices where stable or, if you were long, stagnant. Makes little sense to me that prices were not on the rise with money flooding in from every corner of the earth but that was...

How are ES (S&P500 mini futures) settled? Interactive Brokers.

I must be missing something. What leads you to believe that IB operates as a bucket shop? If I go long a Dec ES contract through IB they, like all legitimate firms, execute that trade through the exchange. The don't bucket -- or fade -- the trade.

How are ES (S&P500 mini futures) settled? Interactive Brokers.

Actually taking or making delivery is decidely not recommended for a novice. While ES is cash settled you should do what nearly every small trader does: When, or as, the volume flips, roll it over into the next contract if you want to hold your position or do a closing transaction if you...

IB customers lose 68m on Spore stocks

Could well be. They have been behind other low priced shares running up and busting out; although the scale here is huge. Do you know or is it simply speculation based on the recent past?

IB customers lose 68m on Spore stocks

May or may not be fraud but the realty is these guys that owned the position are not niave and we now know in Singapore terms IB was very niave. I'm guessing there is an 80% (or more) chance that the shares being bought by IB were coming out of Asians box and when the bid stopped being pegged...

    How to trade forex immediately

Jayan, I know doubling your money sounds as if that is how it should work when your right but most profitable traders are only prepared to risk a very small percentage of their capital on any singe trade -- even when they are "sure". And by risking say 1% of your capital or even half that in...

I'm quite surprised by some of the names that are accepting them. It would be fascinating if they actually became an alternative, widely accepted currency; drive the powers-that-be batshit!!

Harry Reid says glad markets closed Monday

Great post. In life and in trading there are numerous ways to skin the cat. There is a reason that many/most serious traders aim to be market neutral or close to it much of the time. They have enough capital to do it and they have been around long enough to be more risk averse than the...

ELON MUSK WARNS: A 'Tsunami Of Hurt' Is Coming For Anyone Betting Against Tesla

There is no new information here and, I believe, everone in this thread already believes the stock is shall we say, to be polite, fully priced. http://www.forbes.com/sites/richardfinger/2013/09/23/tesla-is-overvalued-let-me-count-the-ways/

IB customers lose 68m on Spore stocks

Stock, I don't think if your IB you can "take it to the street". The Asian may be willing to give up a piece to avoid the probe but no one can muscle it from them. The only way IB gets and of it back is if they have more to lose reputationally than the 68 mil.
