Here is todays trades explained for more clarification.... http://www.ttrader.com/mycharts/display.php?p=31711&u=cktrades&a=CK%20Trades&id=1303 Trade #1 - This was a pre-market LONG from 1213.00 (07:30-07:35 CST) as the MACD lifted off the "zero" line (the MACD had just recently crossed...

NZ, Great observation! That was just a chart I put up to include in a PM that I had sent to someone earlier (someone had a question about my STOCH set-up that I use....so I made a chart image and sent it to them). Yes you could have skipped those two trades based upon the conflicting...

Bulat.....sure you can use a 3 min (actually the three minute works the best in very tight range days....like some holidays or July and August when the market sometimes seems to slow down a bit from lower volume), but with the range days we have had here I would stick to the 5 min IMO...

Today worked out very good as we are getting some exceptionally clean price action moves.....I really hope we can keep this up for a while! Today I had one "zero" line reject trade (which is labeled on the chart), and the rest were all straight forward "zero" and "1/2 Value" line break...

Today was another very good day with several oscillations for some nice hits. We had several moves today that were supported by some really good "out-of-balance" volume pulses. Here is todays charts...

Yes, that area was just totally flat from a volume standpoint so I just held what I already had.......plus these indicators are not as precise when the price range is in such a tight few tick range and volume is almost nil. Plus I wanted to "take/then stay" in a trade with the direction of the...

Bulat, I put this together over the past few years after spending a lot of time looking at charts with different MACD settings on numerous time periods (3 min, 5 min, 15 min, daily, etc). This is just what I ended up liking the best from everything I had tried. The traditional two line...

Very busy today so I am just now getting the days action posted (end of month accounting fun). Today really had some very nice clean price moves with very good follow through.....to bad they all can't be like today. Here is the charts for today...

Downtickboy, Perfect...you get a 100% on your paper, and a :) face. Yes the early morning pre-market channels like that a lot because of the very low volume and sometimes tight price action, as in this case we had about a 3 tick range. So for this I need a criteria to SHORT (break of...

Wow, what a very nice run today....here was the last part of todays MACD entries.... http://www.ttrader.com/mycharts/display.php?p=31582&u=cktrades&a=CK%20Trades&id=1303 I have a MACD entry option shown here that is different from the "zero" line cross or the "1/2 Value" entry (11:20 to...

Quick last chart update before I go out of town. We had a really nice hit on the LONG entered just after 09:10 (CST). Also there was a LONG that I did not take due to volume "up" falling off rapidly as volume "down" was starting to do a "flux" change. The two volumes were flipping their...

Nwbprop, Very good observations on the volume imbalance.... :) I stated here somewhere that if the "peak" or "valley" is < +/- .50 then you just wait for the "zero" line cross....otherwise you have the "1/2 Value" entry as an option for values > +/- .50 . Now as I stated yesterday you...

Nwbprop, Yes that was a heavy volume fight in that time frame so you just keep with the program until the fight gets resolved with a winner.....the LONG's won and the LONG trade at the end of this period was the payoff for all the whipsaw action. You will never have a system that is perfect...

Wanderer, Yes the "1/2 Value" entry can be of a lower probability so you have to be aware of this. Now if the MACD ever runs beyond +/- 2.00 then I will not do "1/2 Value" entries unless I see a good shift in volume or if price action is really running counter to the trend which caused such...

I always have the Stochastic up on my charts during the day (5,5,2 Stoch), but I have left it out of most of my chart examples so the MACD will be taller for the screen shot images (some of the images are a screen shot from my PC at home and some are from my trade office LCD's....just depends...

Reiehaxm, I only go for +1.00 point for 50% of my initial trade entry position and then I cover another 25% of my position at +1.50 points.....this is from previous testing I have done so the system can make money in the chop. Today is not the normal type of trade day (daily range average)...

Version77, I have one guy in my office that uses this on the ER2 very successfully, but for me I prefer the liquidity of the ES for my trading. I have a system based off this ("automated") that does very good on the ZB also. Here is a few trades from a couple of days with my MACD settings...
