    IB Margin Changes

Does it matter who takes the other side of your trade during a forced liquidation? You are still going to lose the same amount of money due to your own reckless use of leverage.

    IB Margin Changes

I don't know of any other broker who uses auto liquidation. But I am an IB customer and I rarely use margin and I am always careful in how I use it. If you don't like their policies, don't use them.

"Occupiers" push Nov. 1 for U.S. to stop paying mortgages en masse.

How about the responsibility of banks to be liable for their own idiotic mistakes? Everything goes out the window when you bail corporations out. The government has shown the game is rigged so the fact that individuals want to level the playing field is fine by me. The fact that Bank of America...

Netflix - Cramer - From the day of the Price Hike. You will "rofl".

Clearly from the video he bought it at $54.24 and sold it at $300. NAILED IT! BOOYAH! At least that is how he will spin it on his show. Either that or he will never mention NFLX again.

Is IB designed to just feed liquidity to Timber Hill?

As long as you are routing your order manually, they don't charge anything extra. If you are routing through the API, then yes. Their cost structure depends on routing to lower cost exchanges when there is an option to do so.

Is IB designed to just feed liquidity to Timber Hill?

I was wondering where my Timber Hill fills went. I always found them to be instantaneous fills and sometimes with price improvement. I wish that option was still around.

    TQQQ trade this morning

But the prints on TQQQ were at around 74 and the previous close was 79.5. 74 / 79.5 = 0.931... so the prints were less than 7% off. So according to the busting rules (9% range), the trades should stand. By the way, thanks for the links - they are greatly appreciated.

    TQQQ trade this morning

The rule is use the regular hours busting percentage for > $50 which is 3% and multiply by the leverage in the ETF. TQQQ is a 3xer so 3 * 3% = 9%. 9% would be the break range in this case.

It would have been a better article if it were written 4 years ago.

What percent of your money is in PHYSICAL GOLD/SILVER/PM's?

I give that a 0.1% chance of happening. However, I'll admit that anything can happen.

    IB Margin Changes

    Most likely not.

    IB Margin Changes

You are the one accusing them of autoliquidation for their personal gain via Timber Hill with no evidence at all backing up that claim.

    IB Margin Changes

I'm not sure who to trust here. On the one hand there is you have been on the wrong end of an IB autoliquidation and are bitter towards the company. On the other there is IB who has been a great brokerage for me personally for more than a decade. It's a tough call!

    IB Margin Changes

I find it funny that you think you know more than IB does about its own business. There is obviously a reason why they are doing this, even though it may seem bizarre to you. As an account holder, I find it reassuring, rather than concerning, that they are proactive with their margin changes.

It is not appropriate in your opinion.

    IB Margin Changes

I guess you don't remember how many small cap stocks got absolutely bludgeoned during the 2007-2008 financial crisis. No one is forcing you to be on margin. As an IB customer who only uses margin in very particular cases, I welcome any margin rules that they deem appropriate given the current...

4 years, 3 accounts... Impossible to blow!

It seems like you could cover a lot more ground letting a computer do the backtesting for you. There would be less mistakes and you could go back any timeframe as long as you had the data. You could try lots of different system strategies in a fraction of the time. It might be worth your time at...

Kweku Adoboli, 31 year old ETF trader held over $2bn rogue trade

Yes, I'm pretty sure there would be headlines such as "UBS Reports Record Profits!" Bonuses would be plentiful and everyone lived happily ever after.
