Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

The account is the stop loss. I am risking what I am willing to lose. I allow 1 mini lot per $1000. Margin requirement is about $391 at 33 to 1. So my stop loss is about 600 pips.

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

Lol, ok, and why is that? See Oldtime, a major pair like the EUR/USD has a very defined range(approx 8000 pips). There is only so much you can actually lose. If it steps outside of this range on the low side, I would suggest we have a lot more to worry about than my measily trading...

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

Which is a wise position to take with EUR/USD right now The best you can hope for is a couple hundred pips in your favour before it retraces and goes back against you. Consider that when I began this EUR/USD trading at the beginning of march, it has barely moved at all. Holding it with the...

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

True, but every single EUR/USD trade that has gone against me has bounced back and become a profitable trade. I have decided to make my account my loss prevention; I am not willing to lose more than what is in my account. So, I have only $1000 in the trading account at any given time. As I...

I can imagine that profiting with a full load must be hard swallow. :D

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

I must confess Oldtime, I haven't taken a loss in over two months. I'm afraid - really really afraid. What will I do when I finally need to take that loss? I guess I should avoid tall buildings.

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

Oldtime, you got me really confused. If you don't use stops, don't use trailing stops, don't cover, how the hell do you ever get yourself out of a trade with money? Yes, you're just messing with me. You told me yesterday that you were stopped out of your shorts, or were you caught without...

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

You cover indirectly with a stop (ideally a trailing stop if profitable)?

You mean buy to cover don't you, or are you adding to your current short?

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

Well you just keep shorting the Euro because everytime you do I make more money. Nothing personal, of course. :p

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

Well of course you are. You always seem to be shorting the EURO one way or another. By the way, didn't you go short EUR/USD somewhere around 3200. You must be feeling pretty good about that trade. Well done. I went long at 3100 (.39960 to be precise)

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

Perhaps, it would make more sense to simple go long EUR/CAD, but then my broker only allows me to hold a currency account in US dollars, but then I'm going long the US dollar again. :D I think we're both overthinking this Oldtime.

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

Yes, and when I go long on the EUR/USD, I am indirectly going long on the USD/CAD pair since I spend in Canadian dollars.

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

However, quite relevant to me. I spend in Canadian dollars, but invest in US dollars. Actually, I do this on purpose. I consider this a recession hedge since during a recession there is always a rush out of the Canadian dollar into the US dollar. Therefore, I may be losing on my US trades...

BUBBLE ben bernanke "risking sequel to 2008 crisis"

It will be another couple of years before you see this crash. In the meantime, expect the markets to rise a lot more. That would be me my guess given the past patterns. But who of us really knows!? :D Dow 20,000 sometime before 2015!!

BUBBLE ben bernanke "risking sequel to 2008 crisis"

Not before we first idolize the man like a God as we did Greenspan. Of course, once everything crashes we'll demonize him just as we did Greenspan.

    95% are losers

I stopped trusting specific sources a long time ago. I find I read a lot of different opinions with little thought for where, or from whom, it is being written. I just read, use what knowledge I have, and then draw my own conclusions, whether or not they're correct.

How to trade the EUR now

Yes, be careful on this one. ECB's decision to lower interest rates is likely to be viewed as good for the economy. This will actually cause the EUR/USD to rise, not fall, I think. Furthermore, given the recent numbers out of the USA, I think Friday's unemployment numbers will disappoint...

    95% are losers

Oldtime, He seems perfectly legit. Here's a list of articles written by him. http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/p/nathaniel_popper/index.html As for your opinion of the New York Times, I'm not in a position to agree or disagree. Having said that, this could...

How to trade the EUR now

Weak also against jpy. Honestly, cad and aud, don't say as much in my decision making. However, now I'm confused. If you see a bullish tendancy in the eur, why are you shorting it?
