And the DOW is in the GREEN! HAHAHA

NIKKEI down 7.3% thanks to Chinese data, taking a big chunk out of my little portfolio. EURUSD up, offsetting "big chunk". ”You know it's time to sell when the deli sandwich kid gives you stock tips." -- hayman kennedy It just occurred to me that that deli clerk could be an ET member...

Today will be the Beginning of one of the massive bubble corrections in..............

Sure, by Monday there'll be yet another opportunity to buy the dip. :D However, I am not as confident as I was before with the QE3 withdrawl plans. We may see the dollar effect gradually wiped out of the stock markets. Glad I'm invested in US equities. The exchange rate to CAD should...

    Increasing Size During Drawdown

With forex? I don't really agree if you're choosing major currency pairs. If you're sizing with an understanding that a major currency pair trades within a range, you actually can rely on 50/50 and gradually increase size as it goes against you. It may take a long time though before it goes...

    Increasing Size During Drawdown

I mention this Oldtime, because you are less likely to go bust if you choose a converging series rather than a diverging series. S + 2S + 4S + 8S + ...... = infinity, is a diverging series.

    Increasing Size During Drawdown

    Have you run the numbers on a system that adds through a gradually decreasing size (S)? For example: S + S/2 + S/4 + S/8 + ..... = 2S.

By the way I recently doubled up on my EURUSD long despite the fact it was against me over 280 pips. :D :D :D :D

Oldtime, do you realize how funny it is to see you called a gambler by others when only days ago you were accusing me of being a gambler?

Isolate $475000 in regular investments and trade $25000. $500 suddenly becomes much easier.

$500+ a day trading index futures, possible?

If I risk $1000, I can replace it many times a year without discomfort. With a $4 margin requirement, I can buy 250 ounces of gold. In other words, my potential gain is much larger than the loss simply because the $1000 is replaceable. A large institution doesn't have the same luxury

$500+ a day trading index futures, possible?

Now, if you want to daytrade 5% of you net worth and make a full-time job out of that, all the more power to you. I would eventually like to be in that position: retired with a a few million set aside in longer term investments, daytrading 5% of that just for the challenge. Then you're in...

$500+ a day trading index futures, possible?

Not sure whether or not that is sarcasm, but I do know that with my few thousands, if I were to waste my time trading for hour and hours, shooting for only 20%, i'd really be wasting my time. I'd be better off firing my money into a few ETFs and forgetting about it for a couple of decades.

$500+ a day trading index futures, possible?

If you're shooting for 10% to 20% on your thousands, you're wasting your time. Hand your money over to a professional, and go get a real job. Otherwise, if you have enough thousands, retire and enjoy your life, but don't spend hours and hours and hours in front of the computer trading your...

$500+ a day trading index futures, possible?

Why does this rediculous comparison alway pop up all over the place? This is a foolish argument. A large entity with large sums of money simply won't take the same degree of risk with their million/billions as an individual does with their thousands. They can't. They aren't allowed to...

    Increasing Size During Drawdown

If you think about it Oldtime adding size is little different than leverage. Used smartly it pays well. Used badly, it kills you. There is nothing wrong with averaging down. Nobody can choose entry price always and perfectly. However if you add the size too quickly you can empty your...
