Trendlines without annotated points do not represent traverses. I simply wanted to show a fractal nature of this stuff (including a portion with gaussians doing the same thing) to help those who still have yet to realize they 'jump fractals' throughout the trading day. - Spydertrader

I rarely hand out rules. Instead, I prefer people walk through the logic, step by step, in order to learn to understand how the market 'speaks' on each and every bar. To that end ..... :) :) :) <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=2129290

The answer is: "Because the market had yet to arrive at Point Two, and therefore, had not yet given permission to seek change." Something must indicate this is the case, and it must do so in real time, but what it that something? You have a copy of my chart. Start with what you do not...

For those newest members among us who may feel the urge to sprint ahead prior to fully completing an earlier phase in the process, I provide this reminder from way back when ... In other words ... Learn to first crawl, walk, run and then you can learn to fly. - Spydertrader

On my chart, all three bars - 14:25, 14:30 and 14:35 (all times Eastern and [close of] ES Bar) show increasing Volume. - Spydertrader

That 14:00 ES [close of] black bar heading higher on increasing black Volume might be a clue. :) 14:10 is Point Two. Unless I am mistaken, a sequence cannot complete until the market has completed a Point Three. :) Same reason 15:05 did'nt signal change. - Spydertrader

On my chart, Bar 7 shows increasing Volume and closes back inside the previous bar. Hence, (again, on my chart) Bar 7 provides the signal for change. The market has indicated non-dominant movement where you 'see' a completed sequence. In real time, one can only believe they 'see' a completed...

So ... why not a few of you pull up the rest of the day, and walk through the process as the market moves from Point One to Point Two to point Three. IF people see things differently, the various points of view can often cause things to 'click' for those still struggling. Heck, you can discuss...

Cable continues to remain sliced in half thanks to Pancho's inability to maintain stability with a weed eater. :) However, the mobile broadband card has provided ample connectivity, so I'll post a few chart snips this morning. Prior to the sound of the Opening Bell, each trader needs to...

Strange as it may seem, Poncho (once again) cut the cable. Posting via back up connection at present. I plan to resume the market walk though once connectivity returns via cable internet. Enjoy! - Spydertrader

    Iterative Refinement

Walk your logic back one step. One cannot receive permission from the market to seek change unless and until one has a completed the sequences from Point One to Point Two to Point Three. In this specific example, the market had already established dominance by providing a signal for change...
