    S&P micro???

so they're like the micro currency contracts that suck because they have wide spreads and low volume?

    S&P micro???

what is the name of the contract? Is it an AMP only thing or is it an actual contract? I would literally be like this if there was a micro ES: Because then I could more comfortably trade the way I want while still managing risk. Swing trading the ES? Yes please! Right now I have to...

Maybe as price gets closer to my target I will sell 2 covered 137 June covered calls. I wish SPY options were priced higher. But at any rate, that might bring in an additional $200-400.

I remember using that one. It was not helpful to me in any quantifiable manner, so I stopped using it. Maybe other people will have better success with it.

    S&P micro???

Dude it would be soooooooo awesome if they had a micro S&P that was $1.25 per tick (and 1/10 commission as well). I know of one broker in Australia who offers a micro ES, but they won't work with US residents. Is the brokerage you're talking about in the US?

I did extensive testing with TRIN and TICK back in the day while looking at mechanical systems and I was unable to find any advantage to using it. Just like any other indicator, it gave good signals just as often as it gave bad signals, so I discarded it. Curious how you guys are using it.

For example, my 200 shares of SPY today cost $26,844. For the same amount of money, I could've gotten around 480 shares of SSO. More than double the shares * double weighted = 4x movement.

I should be trading SSO. It's cheaper ($50s vs $130s) and double weighted, so I'd be getting 4x the movement with the same dollar amount invested. But I worry a little about the decay over time.

Hey man, I trade the same whether there's chop or trend. If you have a way of accurately predicting which it's going to be then I'm all ears to listen. Until that time, I'll trade the way I trade, which is really based more on math and doesn't pay much attention to charts anyway.

Always in systems do wonderfully during trends. And if you have a big up trend followed by a big down trend, you can cash out and go buy a new car. But when price chops around, you lose it all and more, always chasing the trend, having to be on the right side when it picks up again, and when...

All of these should work because fibs have magic powers and "price is drawn to them" right?

"The only way to trade with Fibonaccis" journal

heck if you guys are really conservative you could do it like this, although you might be waiting for a while for your first entry to get filled at $129.30. And as soon as price goes above that previous swing high of $137, you'd have to redraw the magic fibonacci lines, so you might not ever...

Since SPY is getting pretty high, if you guys want to play it more conservatively you could put your first order at 132.41. This gives more wiggle room but also requires more patience.
