    Option Question about Delta

I'm using sources which are easy to understand to those new to options asking questions. I was an Options Market Maker for 25 years and have been in the business from OTC trading desks, to wire clerk, to floor broker, then trader. My 'business advisory' is based on over 30 years of experience...

    Option Question about Delta

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greeks_(finance) [edit]As a proxy for probability Some option traders also use the absolute value of delta as the probability that the option will expire in-the-money (if the market moves under Brownian motion).[5] For example, if an out-of-the-money call option...

Low cost broker that doesn't clear through Penson

Your never going to a guarantee that's absolute. You should always use institutions that make you comfortable. The reality is that if your a "customer", not a BD, at Penson you'll have SIPC and excess SIPC. Penson has plenty of excess capital and just sold a foreign sub for over $30MM to add to...

Low cost broker that doesn't clear through Penson

They have their own routing, so they can sell their order flow. Penson has their own routes too. Not all brokers do. It has nothing to do with Penson. Very few firms that control their DMA don't get PFOF. Every discount online broker does. My point was that the brokers don't sell the order flow...

Low cost broker that doesn't clear through Penson

That's why we offer not only DMA, but also option algos. Also, access to the complex order books, and for larger accounts, access to floor brokers.

Low cost broker that doesn't clear through Penson

Because of CPM rules, how they run their clearance business and the fact that they only want institutional higher value, higher volume accounts. It's not my requirement.

Low cost broker that doesn't clear through Penson

Wow. Penson brokers don't sell order flow. The way it works, is that whom ever owns the Direct Market Access (DMA) route being used, directs the order flow to an exchange and gets paid by a MM or exchange for sending the order there. If you choose a "smart" route, they choose the exchange. If...

Low cost broker that doesn't clear through Penson

If you'd like, e-mail me your contact information and we can discuss it in the morning. For the most part risk is monitored by us during the day and them at night. They have been very liberal because the Intoducing Broker relationship puts us in the next loss position of your account. if you...

Low cost broker that doesn't clear through Penson

I don't trade anymore. 25 years was enough. Our clients sell naked options. Much better in a PM account. Very hard with reg-t, which looks at max loss. PM looks at risk up/down 15% in equities and risk up 6%|down 8% to calculate margin.

    Question for Institutional Market Makers

Your looking at the marketing maker business in too narrow a scope. Being an options MM is like being a bookie. You make lots of bets based on your current evaluation of the odd of success. You constantly reprice your spreads to market conditions based on bets made before. You are constantly...

Best capitalized brokers which does not hypothecate?

Futures are not securities. SIPC only covers securities and cash in securities accounts. All broker dealers pay a yearly fee to cover SIPC protection. Because SIPC is rarely required, the current dues are very low. You can't just add futures accounts, because futures brokers don't pay into the...
