I'm running fine here as well w/o any hiccups for at least the last 2 weeks. I was frustrated with the hiccups/hangups but it hasn't shown here recently. Let's hope it continues to work fine.

I never understood how this practice is allowed to exist. It's so easy to just wipe the slate clean. I guess when the big funds have huge budges for lobbying and political campaigns, you can slide this through w/o much fuss.

This is not a comment directed towards Schindler - all funds do this. Mutual funds especially are very, very good at this. As a broker that used to sell them, I can't tell you how many times the bad ones just up and vanished... It's apparently an acceptable part of the game.

sung - couple ways to view it: 1) Plan your vacation to include a 2 hour morning trading session. Just plan it in so you don't feel bad about doing. Obviously notify family, etc. 2) Just leave it at home. Enjoy the time away. The market is not going anywhere and will be here waiting for...

MIT orders are available but it is broker/platform specific. Ninja does not support these last time I looked. Open ECry does. Just depends on the platform/broker.

Daytrading margins are different firm to firm, so you have to reference your broker. The exchange sets minimums on overnights, but your broker is able to 'charge' more for that as well. As the other post said, if that extra $300 is pushing your account to limits, might be time to leverage...

Good luck. As a broker previously, I can tell you that the money is in mutual funds and managed money. That's it. Or insurance which pays very well too. You are better off just learning a little about longer term investing and buy ETF's. You'll save yourself thousands of dollars.
