Regular CPA versus CPA for traders

toon - why are you unable to meet this trader CPA in person? If they are not local, hop in a plane and off you go. You can do this yearly or until you are comfortable. And a good CPA will know that this trip is deductible.

To Throw in the Towel or Not to Throw in the Towel

I agree 100%. And even if you can find that edge, it won't last for long. So, you could very well program something that could win, but only for a short time and then back to square one.

3 Buckeyes Declaring for NBA Draft

Well, it was a great run and who knows, based on what this article says, perhaps 2 of 3 will be back. Thanks for the great year Oden! http://proxy.espn.go.com/nba/draft2007/news/story?id=2843539 Ohio State freshmen Greg Oden, Mike Conley Jr., and Daequan Cook will all declare for the...

Jay's Double Nickel Room on Paltalk

Well my darling Sarah, as much as fun as this thread has been, it's time to leave this garbage for the trash guys to pick up. I can assure you that I have no other aliases on this board or any other board for that matter. I simply do not have the time to be logged back in and out to simply...

There goes $1,000 out the window!

Interesting info Caj, but you failed to comment on why PT is not registered with the NFA as a CTA. I think that's where bsulli was going with this, I don't think he cared about how many entries your contest generated. The whole trading room thing is currently a grey area, that is for sure. I...

There goes $1,000 out the window!

And what is needed in order to become a CTA? A Series 3. Therefore, as I said, a Series 3 is in fact needed when looking at it in context outside the grey area.

    par for the coruse?

cold - I would interview at least 3 brokerages before making a decision. If that NFA stuff doesn't sit well with you, find a firm with a better record. You ultimately need to be comfortable in your decision as this is your money at risk. Trading is hard enough w/o worrying about who you are...

Regular CPA versus CPA for traders

EXACTLY surdo. There's a few key words there though - "makes money". If you are net losing for the year or making a couple bucks, the expense of paying a firm that knows what they are doing will seem silly. And it should.

Jay's Double Nickel Room on Paltalk

Easy there girlie! No one said that the site was ACTUALLY designed by a child. I simply said it LOOKED like a child made it. The point being (b/c obviously you missed it) was that the site looks very pathetic and cheezy. THAT'S IT SISTER. Someone really needs to go taking a relaxing bath and...

Jay's Double Nickel Room on Paltalk

You just never know with an anonymous message board. I am wary of 'coincidences' though... Same can be said of this SarahG as well. 'She' and 'Daytrademargin' seem to have very similar strong opinions and present their arguments in a purely attacking mode. No real basis or arguments are...

Regular CPA versus CPA for traders

Good question. I would liken the question to - would you rather see a specialist when you have a concern regarding your body or a generalist? The generalist will probably be cheaper and take a shotgun approach whereas the specialist will be more like a sniper, but probably cost more as well...

    Easy Money, No Risk Trading

Just an interesting observation mini. You were one of the permabulls on this site if I ever saw one and your thought process has changed, which is fine. I think you may find that just going with the current action of the moment may even make you more money in the long run. Time will tell.

Exactly. I think it's so funny that new members just happen to be checking out the forum and stumble across something they know a lot about.

Margin - A cheesy ass website is a red flag, regardless of your thoughts here. If you could run a real business on a $1/mo host, then everyone would do that. Why do serious businesses not run on a template service that costs $1/mo? And if you are SERIOUS and PROFESSIONAL about your...

    I just don't understand why...

I'm not debating that at all stock. What I am debating is - why bother posting Dow Down 150 pts tomorrow. No trend analysis is going to predict that w/ any reliability. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut.

Jay's Double Nickel Room on Paltalk

Margin - if the site costs $1-$10/mo to operate and looks cheesy as all hell, that SHOULD be a red flag. That SHOULD say to you... wow, this guy can't even afford a real website. As my post said, having a nicely designed website does not guarantee success. Please see above. And I suggest...

    I just don't understand why...

Good thoughts.... I wasn't saying that you cannot perform analysis and then trade that, but I'm often amused by the amount of very bullish or very bearish predictions. Saying something like dow down 150 pts tomorrow is not the same as performing real-time daytrading. Assuming we are all...
