I was not questioning if you knew what vol was..I misunderstood possibly that u inferred low vols were saying the market is a buy...of which it may or may not be. Trust me I don't analyze too deeply here...just as a vol trader sometimes I do get interested in how others interpret vol levels...

While I agree with your point; I do want to make another. You mentioned vol was not elevated currently in another thread I believe. Of course that is true , but you are not implying vols (spx) by being low are a leading indicator to buy the market? Obviously I read vol levels very differently...

i barely traded this week (other than long vol buildup) saving all my bullets for a possible vol up move next week. of course my hopes for market life can easily be dashed; but if there are some fireworks i will be ready. otherwise i will just wait for the inevitable vol as i earned already this...

RR, respectfully you are so highly misreading things. The futures are 14.98 and 16.12..think about how that may swing the index. Furthermore you are suggesting that spx option traders know which way the market is going...so if they are not buying puts that means the market has blue skies...you...

I have seen a lot of vix talk in this thread lately and had toss out my opinion. Vix as a prediction tool to market panic or direction is beyond nonsense. It lags ridiculously. The vix futures do also...they react to es/spx..I cannot tell you how many times I have seen the futures not...

its a mini size with no volume. if they made it full sized and it could get volume i would be in heaven; but not holding my breathe for cfe put some real effort in their other vol futures.
