    Discretionary Versus Mechanical System Trading

LOL!!! Like a troll, you just hang on to everything I post. Spell check doesn't catch that because it IS spelled correctly. You misread the error as a spelling instead of grammatical. Punch in the sentence and run spell check, you will see that it does not find SEAM as misspelled. ET does not...

    Discretionary Versus Mechanical System Trading

I have found it to be an acquired SKILL anyway one dices it up. ART implies that one can be creative about how to tap into the market's delivery stream when in fact, the market's delivery has no correlation with one's creativity in tapping tinto the stream. A painting is creative and artists are...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

When looking back at a couple of illustrations as icarus has recommended, you will find that at the simplest analysis, the PRV value can be contrasted against the previous 5M bar. As a result, 30s into the new bar, you then have 2 bars for basing a V analysis, decision, and action if required...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Couple of things... We PRV to take a peak at the bars projection. Way back somewhere, possibly in the previous thread, I posted a simple diagram of Volatility (dP) vs Volume of a sample of 5M bars. The resulting chart showed that there is a strong correlation between Volume and Volatility...

Definitely could not have said this any better. What a great post... MAK!

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

So now let's dissect your comment so we can find out what's what/wrong  This is pure nonsense. The failure is in your comprehension. You hear what you want to hear and understand what you want to understand. You have mentioned this several times by stating that you were implementing a...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

What a keeper wrt the attachment. SUPER! I really need to get some major actionable substance into this thread. For the record, I SCT on 15M bars using just BSize/ASize and a variant IF1/IF2. I don't mind sharing explicit details but I haven't been able to formalize it into something rigid while...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

So you are in failure modus ALL of the time. Definitely wouldn't want to be you, FOR SURE! How about enlightening us on what works for you? Does anything work for you? You realize that all of this is an extension of the same exact SUCCESSFUL principles Spyder uses don't you? Presumably for you...

    Verizon Broadband

Luv it. Had it for almost a year now. Trade on it and the whole nine. Admittedly, my movements are in Broadband zones. However, even in remote areas, when I have cell service, I have internet service but usually at modem speeds. Thumbs up IMO!

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Hmmm.... This wiggle room has to deal with spread in some sense. We have to buy the spread but, you've sparked some thoughts. The bigger picture is being comfortable that all the right GOs are in place. Kind of like the control room in houston... LTL => CHECK! P incr => CHECK! V decr =>...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

EXCELLENT POST. I have done this (several days) with astonishing precision and one caveat. As Grob has shown in person, there is a personal efficacy (sp???) limit as to how much data can be handled/processed by our own EQ/IQ. Grob admits that he does the processing uncosciously and automatically...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

I will try and put together my thoughts on this in DETAIL! The knowledge I had worked out (couple of months and notebooks of doodling) is true. It operates very quickly and requires some sort of bandpass filter (ie. removing higher frequency signals). It might take a few days to put such a post...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

A few items. The APA is a bit more detailed than has been posted anywhere in ET. I have gathered this by reading a bit between the lines. Someone somewhere was on the verge of communicating a more acute Q when grob was detailing the activity. The between the lines detail is with regards to...

    a Correlation Question

Bingo... The concept of correlation is very simple. A value of -1 implies that 2 items have an inverse relationship, when 1 item has a positive change, the other has a negative change. A value of +1 implies that 2 items have a similar relationship, when 1 item has a positive change, the other...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

When I tried explaining this to a few buddies, I had to step into there shoes and unwillingly use support and resistance as RTL and LTL. In other words, S&R were dynamic diagonals as opposed to dynamic horizontals (ie. steps or like the game of pong where price just bounces between a support and...

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

Stepping out of my lab for a few weeks (ie. back for a bit). Good stuff all around. For the benefit of the group, I am gonna try and schedule some time to sit down with Grob109 for some side by side action. We chatted (over the phone) for a bit last week and he has really been encouraged by...

Which is better, an MBA or PhD?

So where would pipscooper be on your comparitive list since he is a rubber and road type of fellow... Which is better, an MBA or PhD?

I, in particular, am opposed to being a naysayer. I neither challenge nor ridicule your accomplishments and they are your own to keep and regard. Success is great in any endeavor. Whether one has a PhD, MBA, BS, AA, GED, etc, they all experience success in their own ways. Just the other week, a...

Which is better, an MBA or PhD?

This is a bold statement. At last check, I don't recall seeing many if any traders on the list of Nobel laureates whilst most if not all had PhD's. Just to recap, the Nobel goes to individuals with SIGNIFICANT contributions in their field which have in many instances changed the face of their...
