    Non-display fees

And you are essentially condoning criminal-like behavior by the NYSE to charge different people an exorbitant fee based on how they consume the data. There is no way that this fee would be deemed legal if it were taken to court.

    Non-display fees

NYSE has the capability of going root on Windows, Mac, and all flavors of Linux machines? There is no way.

    Non-display fees

This would be an idiotic way of enforcing the non-display fee. No one in their right mind would agree to do this if they were actively developing a changing program.

    Non-display fees

That is why this rule is unenforceable.

    Non-display fees

IB charges a different rate if you send in an API order directly to an ECN (as opposed to a manual direct to ECN order). So they have to know.

    Non-display fees

So let's say you are using a front-end GUI to manually trade markets, such as ButtonTrader for IB. This GUI has to interface with the API to send orders in to the market. Is this considered non-display?

    Password managers?

KeePass is a very good open source password manager (and is free). You can make it generate custom random passwords. You can make it pre-populate websites with your password. It stores your passwords in an encrypted database that you can unlock with different methods (one being a master...

    Decentralized Stock Exchange

This would be great except for the fact that Cramer is an idiot. What he was talking about was telling Amazon to buy/sell certain stocks as soon as certain economic numbers or Fed statements come out in an algorithmic way, thereby beating HFTs. I.e., you could set up an order at Amazon that...

SEC charges hedge fund manager Leon Cooperman, Omega Advisers with insider trading

The SEC is a joke but at least this time they aren't going after a kid who trades between school periods.

    Fleckenstein: The market is unshortable

Anyone who doesn't own a little gold in this environment must think the central banks are demi-gods.

Is there a way to cancel every IB order automatically after 30 minutes?

I'm assuming these aren't API orders because if they are you can just cancel them with code. It might be possible to cancel open orders with the API, even if you didn't use the API to submit them, but I am not 100% sure of this. Or have a keyboard macro program fire off Alt+T + Alt+N + Alt+O...

How obsessed are you with the markets?

According to Cramer, Lenny Dykstra is "one of the great ones":

    Interactive Brokers Implements Price Caps

I would rather sign an agreement stating that "I understand the risks" rather than have price caps forcefully thrust upon me. The problem with IB's stance is that price caps will inevitably screw people over at the worst possible time, opening up IB to arbitration/suits.

    Interactive Brokers Implements Price Caps

Old news. When they first started doing this (awhile ago), I noticed it almost every week and complained to IB about it everytime. It has been awhile since one of my orders have been capped so it appears IB has fine-tuned the capping algorithm since then. Don't know when it is going to bite me...

    25,000 Roundtrips a day?!

I don't trade futures. But if it is like all other markets since 10 years ago, liquidity is worse and algos are prevalent. Plus if you show/trade big size as part of your strategy, the powers that be might throw you in jail for spoofing.

Has IB ever acknowledged a technical problem with TWS?

Every problem I've had, IB has eventually fixed. And most of the time I have to explain it to a customer rep and then it gets forwarded to the programmers. I think your characterization here is slightly exaggerated. IB is not ultra-responsive for sure, but they've never blown me off when I...

Broker's wash sales not calculated correctly

The problem is that I can see some uppity IRS agent getting upset that you didn't mark wash sales in accordance with your broker's statements (even if they are intra-year) and so he audits you.
