How Many Traders Were Stopped Out on Tuesday Because of the NYSE FUBAR Hybrid System?

I am saying there is no proof of what you are claiming even though everyone is claiming that. If everyone had been buying and the same problem occurred, would you be complaining too?

How Many Traders Were Stopped Out on Tuesday Because of the NYSE FUBAR Hybrid System?

Obviously this is of concern. However, the original poster is implying that because the NYSE couldn't handle the volume the market tanked (and I don't buy it). If the NYSE had problems again today, why didn't the market tank again? I think the market was just ready for a fall.

How Many Traders Were Stopped Out on Tuesday Because of the NYSE FUBAR Hybrid System?

That's right so you can't tell me that it would have been any different had everything been working peachy keen.

Maybe it dropped because it was time for the market to go down.

How many times do you restart IB TWS per day?

Yes, it is possible that the order has disappeared from your TWS and yet it is still active. I have had this happen before although it was several years ago. If you ever have this issue, call IB and track the order down by phone (or by chat). As for the TWS, I never have to restart it.

I understand now, thanks for the clarification. I just trade for myself so the tax reporting is much simpler.

    Taxes at IB

What do you consider a serious business? I trade full-time and only trust myself to get my taxes right. It is part of my business to know the tax law applicable to my business.

TaxACT online free tax software w/ free IRS E-file

It would be a good deal if the software were close to TaxCut or TurboTax. I reviewed TaxAct maybe two years ago and it wasn't nearly as nice nor did it have as many features. Maybe things have changed.

    Taxes at IB

I just summarize my trading per account. One line per account. Of course, I have declared mark-to-market accounting for my trading so I use Form 4797 to report trades. I am not sure if the IRS says to list each individual trade on Form 4797 or not. But anyway, I am not about to send them all...

    OSTK ceo

Let me paraphrase (from the point of view of an Overstock.com guy): Overstock.com isn't doing well so we can't blame ourselves so lets blame the short sellers. Wouldn't that be great if we could get some money out of this too - yes, let's try that. The company surely isn't making any.
