Consider a 20 pip stop gets hit . With a 1 pip spread thats 5% of that trade going to the house.
10 pip stop 10% goes to house.
Make sure your system is robust enough to cover the cost of doing business on small timeframes . Otherwise your broker is the only winner.

I've thought about this scenario too. I think for a lot of methods, scaling out smoothes out the equity curve and makes it psychologically easier to trade but isn't necessarily optimized for profit. I've gone back and forth with this issue more than once in my trading. Interesting topic indeed!
