    daytraders, you better learn.....

Perhaps for you, who has just shown up here on ET. But for us who have been around awhile, this lack of volatility and lack of volume is creating famine conditions for those of us who like to leave each day flat.

    Newsstrike has lost its edge

The great thing about this service was not only was it FREE but that it had one of the best breaking newsreaders in the business. He only spoke when there was something tradeworthy and he was usually ahead of the pack. Now that he's gone, we are left with someone who reads pretty much...

RMBS - did u see that?? wtf

Somebody whined loud enough to Daddy Nasdaq and got all their "erroneous" trades cancelled. Meanwhile, anyone who happened to buy below 20.73 and sell anywhere above that is now synthetically short the stock. Crap like this makes trading treacherous and the NASDAQ should not have caved.

RMBS - did u see that?? wtf

No I was watching the TOS and the level 2 as it happened. Some MM/ECN was crossing the market with huge shares to sell at 15.75 then one minute later the same MM/ECN was trying to buy huge share amounts back above 23. Pathetic doesn't begin to describe that scenario.

RMBS - did u see that?? wtf

Some newbie's head at a hedge fund is gonna roll for that one. That was the most pathetic trading I have ever witnessed in a stock with no news.

I think stocks may go down big, so I am SELLING PUTS!

Vix is at a 15 month low. You are collecting very low premiums considering the capital you will be tying up for the next 12 months. Why not wait until VOL picks up and collect a little more premium for your efforts?

This happened at least once in the past. Hopefully their server is just down temporarily. But who knows. Hooking up with a free service does have its pitfalls.

    newsstrike on strike?

I hope that's not what's up. Their reader is the best. He's not only quick but RELEVANT. No endless blathering that is so often the case with the paid services.

    newsstrike on strike?

Anyone know what happened to newsstrike. The Reader signed off one minute before the 10:30 numbers. Very unusual. Now the site is no longer accessible?

    SKF and Cramer

Virtually every day the market is down, Cramer comes on TV and blames the SKF (I am not kidding). Perhaps he didn't listen to the abysmal earnings call from State Street or read their scary 8-K (down >60% today). But facts don't matter.....it's the conspiratorial traders manipulating the SKF. He...

    Another Pathetic Cramer Rant

On his show today he is again decrying the selloff today as pure market manipulation due to the removal of the uptick rule and leveraged ETFs. Did he not notice that the market rallied 10% off the unemployment lows from last Friday. Did he not also note that today we saw the worst UE claims in...

Wall Street Journal on the "Obama Crash"

Clinton??? You have no idea what you are talking about. In Spring 2002 (one after Clinton left office), my wife and I had to put 50% down on a NYC condo as a primary residence for WAMU, even though our liquid assets were twice the value of the property and our combined income was more than...

    AAPL earnings after the close

This thing is NOT going to open higher. This guidance was the lamest ever. Analysts were expecting a 50% q/q increase in EPS. They are guiding for flat at best.

    Merrill Lynch Arb Play?

Bof A is not acquiring MER for $29/share. They are offering .8595 of their shares for each share of MER. That puts it in the $17 range. And the spread is because, in today's market, NOTHING is a sure thing!
