Why not more depth of market price ladder discussions?

Many thanks QuasWexExort! No, I am NOT paying for any education on this, the very helpful ETer just pointed me to that to kind of get up to speed how it works and some considerations around it. Good to know it does get pretty widespread use. In my mind, a ton of what shows up in the DOM (the...

yahoo SPX volume is just weird

Wait Jharmon, are you saying what I think you are saying - what they are quoting for the S&P 500 volume for the entire New York stock exchange listings? That's even more insane. I still maintain weighted average volume of the 500 in the index is the correct way to do it. :)

U.S. has no problems unloading soybeans in light of Chinese tariffs

So the thing in the article about Brazil selling its soybeans to the chinese got me thinking. im not saying these are the facts, but lets just assume the facts are: total world supply of soybeans - 120 tons US supply of soybeans - 50 tons chinese consumption of soybeans - 60 tons to the...

U.S. has no problems unloading soybeans in light of Chinese tariffs

Good point. Article I did not see mention any. But whatever it was I bet it was less than what the overall tariffs would be on said soybeans. :)

Why not more depth of market price ladder discussions?

A fine ETer pointed me to the depth of market ladder view and possibility of trading with it, and pointed me to no bs day trading on youtube for discussions of it. Example: Fascinating stuff, especially what he says about the true traders at prop firms and what not not really looking at...

yahoo SPX volume is just weird

Oh SunTrader, to be clear, I wasnt talking about you agreeing with overnight on the lack of importance between price and volume, just on how S and P volume is reported

yahoo SPX volume is just weird

Overnight was saying you might just add up the 500 stocks' total volume. I said I thought it made more sense to do a weighted average volume calculation. You said (I think) that the reported volume is indeed just adding up their cumulative volume, as Overnight was suggesting be done to keep it...

yahoo SPX volume is just weird

QUOTE="Overnight, post: 4636439, member: 494466"]Well, you seem to be caught up in the paradigm of every statistic out there MUST be measured in the context of trading. And again, here... What does volume have anything to do with determining price, and vice-versa? In my observations, price...
