    order confusion please help

Do you mean that you first "short" the stock at $10, then..... If that is true, then you would want to enter an order cancels order (OCO). Buy X shares at $8.00 OCO Buy X shares at $12 Stop. If it trades at $8 first, it will cover your short and cancel the stop order. If the stock goes up...

    Would You Leverage This Strategy?

You are not providing enough information for a response. A 20% DD for a strategy that provides 100% per year vs 8% per year would be very different. Also, is that DD for one day, one month or one year. What is the asset class you are trading?

Question about consecutively placing orders at CQG ( experts pls help)

Sorry, I was not clear. It was many years ago and it was on a retail futures platform. I did not try it on spreads, I used it to scalp. I thought it was a common order type, but can't easily find it. xandman-If you are reading this, can you do that on CME Direct?

Are there any millionaire traders who started undercapitalized?

It's good to have a plan and be optimistic. But IMO, this is not the right plan. The plan should be to train yourself to find an edge and exploit it. Manage your risk and grow your account. What you are expecting of yourself is perfection which is rare. I will say over and over in this forum...

Question about consecutively placing orders at CQG ( experts pls help)

No. The best thing to do is call CGQ support. They are very helpful. I used an order type many years ago called Order Triggers Order (OTO), but I don't see that in their manual.

    Volatility & Correlation.

Maybe, but trading is not right for everyone. Stock picking is not right for everyone.

    Volatility & Correlation.

Correct it is buy and hold, but for a 30 to 40 year time frame, I would not be a stock picker and would choose an index and dollar cost average. Just my opinion.

    Volatility & Correlation.

If I had a long term horizon like that I would not be a trader, but an investor. For investors, I think dollar cost averaging is the way to go.

Where is the right place seeking funds for trading?

You are in the same position as many. Sim trading only has value to test a strategy. Without real trading with a material amount of funds, it basically has little value. You need seed capital. If you can't get it from friends and family, you need to find seed capital from a stranger. We have had...

Where is the right place seeking funds for trading?

You have to start with building a verifiable track record. Then you have to build a business around that strategy and yourself. Investors focus on your track record as the first filter to determine if they will invest, however they make their final decisions based on the managers and the...

Why is my order always last in line?

That would be my expectation too, but it's possible for a broker to get a 1st look at the order to see if they want to cross it with their own trading desk. I don't know anyone that does that, yet.

Why is my order always last in line?

Smart route with futures should not delay your order and place inline, unless the order is not placed on the exchange order book. You can try asking your broker if the order is sent to a dark pool first and then to the exchange or directly there. They might not respond, which is not a good sign...

What Asset class are you having problems with (futures, options and/or stocks)? Are you using a "smart" route or DMA? Bob

    Spoofing the futures market

It is considered market manipulation. Regulators are very focused on this abuse right now in both the futures and securities markets.

Anyone using Python on a large scale trading application?

I'm not a programmer but I still enjoyed your posts. However, I do watch a lot of TV, so the only thing I understood was the "Dr. Sheldon Cooper" reference. :)
