oil is mostly traded based on TA with OPEC out of the way the price is driven by speculation

it's very doable though starting with 5k, trade 2 CL contracts with a target of 10 ticks a day, increase contract size as account size grows but this requires strict and consistent discipline which 99% of people can't manage

you'd have a better shot getting to 50k if you start out with 500k

i wish i could stop trading after 15 mins it's like crack, tough to walk away even after good profits

td is very lax with margin let's say with IB, if you don't meet the margin requirement by 3:50 you get auto liquidated by their algo but with TD you can hold your position for days sometimes i've held 4x daytrading margin positions for up to 4 days (without closing the position) with TD...

i really hoped it could get to 2000 quick so i could short it, but it just looks like a bear flag that topped at 1940 and is about to break to 1780 hope i'm wrong, sticking to day trading until i find a good level to swing short
