I can not trade futures in this enviroment

Mini - also consider volume based charts. On the YM try 400-500 share bars. Moving to volume based bars is the single, biggest improvement I have EVER made to my trading and I owe to the thread that ProfLogic started. I am not here to debate the merits, just that volume based charts is what...

Anyone heard of DV Trading from Toronto?

Dino - the point you are missing here is that if you want to advertise (like you have this entire thread), THEN PAY FOR IT. See, by coming on here and using one alias to post a question and then another alias to answer it, anyone with a tad of smarts realizes you are just here spamming b/c...

    Scottrade PDT Reset

Cal - the majority of laws and regulations in the markets have come from the amount of lawsuits filed by people who made mistakes and wanted to point the finger at anyone but themselves. After a few multi, multi-million dollar suits and you would push for changes as well if it was your business...

    Best trading time during day?

I agree - morning session is best and then walk away. But, that's what works for me.

    Ad killer for IE7

Anyone know of a good ad killer for IE7? I know firefox has them, but I haven't found too much for IE7. Microsoft's website has some, but hard to tell if they are any good. Just looking for something that can kill ads on websites. Thanks!

What background colors are you currently using for your charts?

I agree with Prof - you do NOT want a dark background if you want to keep your eyes in decent shape. There is a reason why books, magazines, etc. typically all have white background and dark text. I used to have black background and colored candles till I read up on this and asked my eye...

    Every share has a buyer?

I forgot - I don't trade stocks, so MM were not on my list! Thanks guys!

    Every share has a buyer?

FH, I think there are 3 types of buyers in an environment like Tue: 1) Short sellers covering. Easy to explain. 2) Dip buyers. Those trying to buy 'dips' b/c the market was/is in bullish run. 3) Long term buyers. Those that view Tue simply as an incredible day to purchase. If you believe...

Anyone heard of DV Trading from Toronto?

Let's see... someone asks about the firm with their first post and then the owner just 'happens' to stop by and provide us with some spam with his first. Coincidence I am sure. Thanks buddy for spamming the board! Nothing like free advertising, right? :D

    Buyers of the Sell-off

Div - if you want to buy into a strong downtrend, have at it! I personally much prefer to go with the flow not against it. I guess if you are a long-term bull, today provided great opportunities to buy cheap!

Your going to hate this brutal post

You missed my point from my previous post on this. Just b/c some guy's book or website says that 90% of traders fail doesn't mean squat. Anyone can make a website and put whatever they want on it. What I was asking for is if this stat that you and other vendors like yourself use to sell...

Cajun - did you happen to find that report that shows the % of failing traders? I'd like to read it. Thanks!

Financial advising and Trading full time at the same time?

You are not going to find a broker/dealer that is going to let a new guy focus on trading stocks and doing research as a broker. Your job as a broker is simple - to sell. That's it. Go out there and tell the world to invest in your firm's mutual funds and managed money. Then, turn the money over...

Why would anyone trade the US futures?

The foreign futures are something to consider, but as Mark said, if you are in the US, you have to adjust your life in order to trade them. I personally enjoy working from 8am till Noon in my own timezone. Makes life a little easier.

Financial advising and Trading full time at the same time?

You could get trading POA's on accounts, that may be an option.

    Mixing widescreen monitors?

Not since Vista came out. I tried again and again to get XP and they wouldn't budge. Even on the clearance/refurb stuff. Maybe someone knows how, but I was unable to get it done. I ended up getting a laptop at tigerdirect.com with XP Pro on it for a good price.

    Stop and Reverse Trading Systems

gif - it would depend on the trader and the methodology being used. If you have found that trading with the overall trend is best for you, that's half the battle! You found what works for you.

    Looking for Broker

Drew, I would check out ProActive and Mirus as well. $2500 is a very, very small account to open, so I hope you are prepared for big swings! Hopefully more up than down!
