    Why is deflation bad?

The problem we have had is Credit inflation, too much credit to make up for lack of wage growth. Now that Credit is shrinking so should prices. Also the Great depression was caused by a big credit bubble just like now. But the good news compared to what happened in the great depression...

    Gold prices in danger.

30+% markups on gold and all kinds of scams risk spooking investors. Gold bugs like to think they have all their bases covered. The price of the precious metal can only go up whether the economy is facing inflation or deflation, or so they claim. Lilli Day | Photodisc | Getty Images...

    Bright Trading's new payout model

Okay so its really about Margin/leverage. I do not use either, I have enough capital/securities that I do not need to do that. I mainly do options (Short options) both puts and calls. I do not daytrade. Although I might modify/adjust positions. The nice thing about not using margin and...

    Bright Trading's new payout model

So what is the purpose of joining a prop firm? I get 100% Payouts with etrade pro minus the little commission which is nothing really. Vs giving some firm 20% of my earnings. I see no purpose for joining a prop firm.

    ongoing option newb questions

Extrinsic value seems to get compressed the deeper in the money an option is. Kind of like filling a cup with sand sitting it on a foam block, the more sand you put in the heavier it gets and the flatter the foam block becomes. I guess intrinsic value is like mass. It took me 4 years...

Curious, Why did people pay 180's for X ?

It never made sense for X to be valued that high, nothing on the balance sheet indicated X being worth so much. So why did people pay so much for United Steel? Am I missing something?

Why not do one better, A 50K fine for the first offense, and 50K for each additional offense. When you hit Business where it hurts, they will not want to hire illegals. If you remove the incentive they will not come.
