I only trade once a a month (expiration fridays) sometimes monday also after expiration friday. with the occasional extra trade during the month. I have free time the rest of the month.

No one says you have to. you don't have to fire up your trading software if you do not wish to trade. But it makes no sense that in the US trading is not 24/7 with all the technology now involved that would permit it

I dont understand if I short 20 117 dec puts on SPY how am I selling something I do not own? I have the cash to buy 2000 shares of SPY at 117.

When I closed out my 117 puts today someone actually sold them to me for 1 penny why? ie: for example .01 cent x 20 = 20 dollars someone now shorted the contracts for 1 penny and I bought them and closed out. so someone is now potentially at risk 234K to make 20 bucks?

I closed my short 117 puts for a buck each. and sold the dec ones for 2.58 my e-trade has the nicer tools but I like this buck buybacks.

what would you put in it. I would put GRPN, Angies list at the top of the list.
