What do you mean "areas of change?" The way it's colored by default is a bright green bar on an up candle and a dark green bar on a down candle. How are you suggesting I color it instead?

Be aware that while Heikin-Ashi charts look pretty, they're not showing you actual price data, so when you think you're exiting at the bottom of a downtrend, price has probably actually started going up again and you've already lost money you just don't know it yet.

Fibs are no different than any other number. A 34 period MA works just as well as a 33 or a 35. It's not like 34 will make you profitable and 33 and 35 will not. Same thing with any of them, especially as you get higher and the percentage change between +/- 1 becomes less. Your magic...

Here you go. 10, 25, and 50 period HMAs and ZLEMAs for comparison. I get the feeling that ZLEMA is supposed to be used in smaller period increments... I'm not sure if you'd ever go higher than 50 or so... the "zero lag" aspect makes it sound like it's meant for short periods, like 3, or 5...

You are correct about HMA overshooting. Hang on I will post some charts for comparison.
