    The Surf Report

Nice !!! But careful here Surf....we're mombo oversold (remember the last time ???). And actually if we can get oil back down to 90 or so, it would help support the market. I don't see the real panic until 12,400 is taken-out on the cash Dow. But heck, it could happen.....TOMORROW !

    Biggest bubble of all time

    1) could turn sour quickly. If-and-when it does, look-out below. The key here is also: will wages keep-up with inflation ? Likely: NOT. So the consumer will be scared and squeezed....not a great economic environment. 5) Fed funds/discount rate no longer good benchmarks for supply/demand of...

    Comparison of auto trading platforms

Yes, and see the post regarding "Sue IB.....". One trader lost a ton due to a reconnection "glitch". It appears standing/resting orders sometimes get converted to market orders upon reconnection.

    lmfao!!!!!!

Omigosh - "In the long run, we are all dead" (who said that ?) Unfortunately, with Hillary at the helm, it's: "In the short run, we are all dead" (economically speaking). Yep, she'll wipe-out any remaining capitalism left in the US. Finally, we'll be like....France !!

    Unpaid Credit Cards Bedevil Americans

Omigosh - just great photoshop work !!! This is hilarious. Someone should print it out blow it up to proper size, paste it on a cereal box and send it to the Federal Reserve.

    Comparison of auto trading platforms

Dude- for this incredible feature list you've developed, why not just check-out the top of the heap: Bloomberg Somehow, I think that even their auto-trading platform which STARTS at $100k per license may not be able to do all of this. So, if they cannot do this, what makes you think a cheapo...

Xtrader's "OCO Trader Ltd" using BE+1

You need a CAR (cancel and replace) order button that is configurable....say convert your initial stop to a trailing stop....or just a "closer" stop as you mentioned. Best to contact the vendors of the add-on for that. Thanks for the doc link....very interesting implementation by this vendor.

How my shrink gave me trading advice

Wow, great advice. However, American's especially are so enamored with titles and careers....no wonder why the first question at a cocktail party is always "So what do you do for a living ?" I remember meeting one wise-ass and here's what he said: "As little as possible". And then he walked...

Option Expiration - Max Pain Theory

Talk about "PAIN"....except for 1 or 2 expirations over the past year, anybody selling credit spreads with calls has got to be hurting right now. If you were doing far OTM spreads, then fine, but if you did NTM spreads within 30 days of expiration, which is usually the "sweet spot" for max...

    Sucker's rally

I think you'll be good here....the YM was really looking weakish late afternoon. Also, not much buying power next week as most of the bulls are down in the islands for the holidays....while us bears freeze our butts off and eat a Bob Cratchet turkey for Christmas dinner.

Does any one make money intrady trading

Wow, today's action in NQ and YM are perfect examples of this. Several times today, there was absolute confirmation of strength....and then absolute confirmation of weakness. In either case, if you waited too long to make a move, you got hammered when the "trend" reversed.....hard and suddenly.

Does any one make money intrady trading

Uh...excuse me, but a track record like that, albeit phenomenal, begs for this question: Why aren't you managing outside capital, i.e. OPM (other people's money) ?

    `Deal With Devil'

More interesting from all of this housing, credit, and subprime debacle is the fact the Dow is only 7% off all-time highs. Elliades mentioned this on Marketwatch and says the impact may not be felt till Q1 2008. 20% downside was mentioned....bringing the Dow down to 10.5k.

    The Surf Report

http://www.marketwatch.com/tvradio/player.asp?guid={A9C6E49C-DAF2-489F-A832-307405DFD495} Interesting his take on why the market is not down 20%. Indeed, every dip so far has resulted in a violent counter-reaction back up (as Surf has discovered first hand !)....giving hope to bullish...

    `Deal With Devil'

Great articles....great stuff. My only comment: just "eye-balling" the numbers, I would estimate Sadek made personally at least 2 million dollars per year over the past 4 years......the cars, trophy girlfriend, gambling, etc. all add-up.

    Laser platform

Actually, there's not much to talk about....it's all about the coding and more importantly the testing. The feature-set is pretty much already determined just from looking at other competing platforms. One important feature will be to insure that contingent orders are cancelled if the original...

    Laser platform

Actually, I'm building this capability onto Laser via the Excel interface. Ultimately, my add-on will support: OCO (bracket orders), trailing stops, and time-contingent orders. The purpose of my post is to ascertain the relative popularity of the platform to see if there is any market for this...

    IB Unstable Again

See prior posts...it's most likely NOT TWS, the workstation, but it's the backend data and order servers. When they're hosed, all TWS clients connected will have problems. I've been thru this before with QCharts a while ago. The solution was to provide a mechanism for users to switch back-end...

    Laser platform

But what about reliability ? I was able to crash it consistently by simply going to File, Trade Settings, Keys Stroke. This was as-of release 5.3.318. Also, lack of stop loss, trailing stop orders is a bit of a bummer, no ?

    Laser platform

I noticed there have been no ratings for Laser lately: http://www.elitetrader.com/so/?action=view&SR_ProductID=160 I've had the opportunity to test drive it recently, and it is pretty decent.....very efficient as it can handle multiple level II boxes without spiking even an old CPU. I've also...
