    500+ Point Drop By Close

Great call. As you can see, there is a lot of nibbling on the long side at these low, low levels. Fierce support at Dow 11800 I would say. Also, the fact that Bear stayed near 30 was pretty impressive. Monday of course could be a whole different story.

    C++ Compilers.

Without seeing your code or implementation, you are probably on the right track in blaming COM. I had experience with implementing COM using IB's TWS API and it was slow as heck. Bottomline: There is a lot of overhead in the COM calls and callback processing. It's best for you to consider a DLL...

    each market low-bernanke comes in

Of course we will pay for these moves dearly down-the-road. All he has done here is transfer risk to a larger audience.....the taxpayers....who will eventually pay for this. It's all "smoke and mirrors".

Managing orders from Excel --> TT X_Trader

The Tradebullet API will work with Excel. However, I would be concerned about the fact the API has not been upgraded since August 2007. Also, for IB/TWS, it requires a fairly old TWS release.

Managing orders from Excel --> TT X_Trader

It appears to be possible to send orders from Excel using the XTAPI. However, a comment in the forum from an administrator indicates that TT does not recommend nor support such usage....i.e. you are on your own if any problems arise.

Shorting is extremely risky in this market- losses, losses, losses

Lookie here...short covering rallies in BEAR MARKETS...are: 1) SWIFT 2) NASTY (for the shortS) 3) SHORT-LIVED (for the well capitalized) If you get "caught short", you have two options: 1) GET OUT IMMEDIATELY for a loss 2) HANG ON - you'll eventually be rewarded.

Sitting on the edge of a cliff

Sorry...but you need to go back to school....basically Econ 101. I came from THE GREATEST school of free market economics...whose professor recently passed-away. (Go figure it out from that....your homework assignment has been given) He taught Futures trading over 35 YEARs ago. He'll tell...

    Multi-chart Ripping Off Tradestation

OMIGOSH...that is so precious...and TRUE. Bill and Ralph Cruz are just so obviously waiting for the day they can finally just sit on the sands of the beach counting the number of string-bikinis go by. They were once far ahead of anyone in this area...and then they decided to screw their...

why trade prop when you can retail daytrade futures with same 20:1 margin

I've been preaching this mantra ever since I left prop. Prop is about stocks, not futures or options. That is where the money is. (for them).

    eSignal lag on ES

BINGO ! This would account for the attitude towards the smaller traders and the fact is they have a ton of institutional business to keep them profitable. We're like gnats to them.

    Cramer

Time to rename Cramer's show to "Sad Money". All of his listeners are crying into their cheap Budweiser beers. The shorts are drinking Dom Perignon. Too bad Cramer never sees fit to recommend a short ultrafund or other short-biased ETF. Looks like Cramer's career may end similar to Joe...

    eSignal lag on ES

LISTEN UP. This is the very same problem I experienced with QCharts years ago: SOME SERVERS WERE WORKING GREAT, others lagged badly. It all has to do with the distribution of the workload and the data. Apparently, ESignal has not figured out how to optimize the load by server-switching...

    Easylanguage question

For daily bars, that will basically work because the orders placed will most certainly result in fills. So in this particular case, MarketPosition is not really needed unless you want to place these orders only when already flat. In that case, just qualify the orders: If MarketPosition = 0...
