If you like mean reversion over trend, what are the advantages?

Yeah, I’d say for 99% of the spreads we trade we don’t leg them, we use the exchange supported futures spreads. We are trading legit convergence and divergence, we are not scalping one leg against the other leg. Big difference in mindset and purpose.

    A new economic era?

It’s actually far more craven and cynical than that. They know the ECB and the Bundesbank will backstop them. The problem with running severely negative rates over a protracted period of time is that it weakens the balance sheets for all the banks. You’re taking away or minimizing one of the...

If you like mean reversion over trend, what are the advantages?

That’s what took out Bright Trading in Las Vegas. Trading stock pairs for mean reversion. Those guys would model to fade a one sigma move, add on a two sigma move, etc. then :vomit::vomit::vomit:. They’d hit four or five trades and then give it all back and a whole lot more on the sixth...

If you like mean reversion over trend, what are the advantages?

Dude, look at CL or ES on a Daily with RSI. If you’re fading overbought/oversold (selling on overbought, buying on oversold) you’re getting smoked. Been that way for years now.

If you like mean reversion over trend, what are the advantages?

Stock Pairs have gotten to be next to impossible to day trade. Hell, I don’t even like futures intra market pairs (same instrument different month).

Not an inspiring vote of confidence. DB is a clown show.

Why is money randomly disappearing from my TT demo account?

It’s not an “account” in actuality. It isn’t linked to a capitalized FCM account. With everything that you do for “free” there’s a limit to what you get for “free”. TT is the best there is when it comes to a commonly available futures trading platform.

How do Prop Firms Avoid Insane Data Fees?

    Trailing Stops

Trailing Stops are the saw that cuts both ways. They will also take you out of a performing trade far too early. This is especially true for swing trading. Use scales.

Why is money randomly disappearing from my TT demo account?

You will get a .pdf Futures Statement from your clearing firm/broker every evening with your MtoM P&L and your account equity. Rely upon that and not anyone's software. TT does not clear trades.

    RBM21

October '20 Crude Oil Future (red and green candles) versus October '20 Gasoline Crack (dark blue and light blue bars). This isn't June '21, but the concept is the same.

    RBM21

Personally, I would have done a Crack Spread - it's a better expression of Gasoline value and the fact that the entire world is awash with crude oil supply it would have given you fantastic downside protection. As of today's close you'd be marking up nicely after an 8/21 purchase of the M21...

since we know that all trading courses are bullshit, what would you actually look for in one?

I started out trading inter market Treasury Spreads in the Pits and was mentored by KR, the biggest Bond Roll Spread trader ever, and by Ray Cahnman from TransMarket. I legged spreads on Project A and Globex and DTB in the late '90's and later on Eurex and LIFFE. I was an original Beta tester...

    A new economic era?

In the current political climate, those 95 million dollar compounds on the Hamptons waterfront are more likely to be owned by Democrats. The World’s wealthiest person identifies as a liberal Democrat. I’m really not trying to denigrate Democrats, I’m simply pointing out that political...

Yeah we don’t do your pairs and we don’t do short time periods either. I haven’t day traded a spread in thirteen years.

China making progress to open bond market to foreign investors

Why would a foreigner buy a Sovereign Bond in a Country where the currency has a history of being unilaterally devalued and pegged? Imagine being a pension fund manager in Canada and you wake up to find out that the People’s Bank of China has just devalued the worth of that 10 year paper you’re...

Not unless there becomes a strong third party in US politics that can win general elections and is not beholden to Corporate interests and the wealthy elites.

I’ve seen your posts on pairs, and we don’t do your pair trades. We don’t do forex pairs, either. I discourage it in fact.

since we know that all trading courses are bullshit, what would you actually look for in one?

I personally don’t teach people how to trade - I take people with some level of trading competence (whether it be retail, commercial, or prop experience) and I teach them a specialty, which is spread trading. Having said that, I think it deserves to be said that the right kind of mentor could...

How does the fed add liquidity to the economy?

We’ll be fine as long as the Government stays away from fiscal conservation. And since both Parties really could care less about deficit spending it would appear that it won’t be an issue.
