What The Bleep Do We Know?

I am not familiar with quantum theory, quantum this and quantum that. However I always find attractive, the notion, as in the film, of the individual empowering himself/herself to enhance and shape life for the better. But I considered the speculative 'science' in the film fanciful and the...

If you were going to make 1 mil in the next 12 mo's, would you change your trading?

If you were going to make 1 mil in the next 12 mo's, would you change your trading? 'No' is the answer for any who actually know what they are doing. Two elements apply because this is a time question. 1) You have to be able to relentlessly exploit the near term (eg the YM intraday), namely...

How much money is considered good enough for trading?

Sayin' and doin' are 2 different things. Short answer: forget making $10k a month or any other amount. You have to really know what you're doing. You don't. :)

What Was The Most Simple Edge That Worked For You?

The simplest approach is to utilize the intraday gyrations (eg YM). You can enter each move on BO from the preceding opposite move. Easier said than done? Then nail it down. :)

Too old to get a trader job ?

    Correct. It won't happen. :)

NYSE Specialist - Stay or Go - vote here

Specialists. Oh dear they make a profit. Corrupt. US employees across the nation. Get a salary. Oh dear being bribed for services rendered. Corrupt. Its called money, honey. You notice all the 'f**ked-ups' and 'have-nots' have to trumpet their envy and bitterness. Chill. :)

    Are all trading courses scams?

Are all trading courses scams? Well, hell, these courses probably make people happy. They feel swollen again with new and refreshed daydreaming of money or of fortune. Will any of them do other than fail? Once they have jacked away some of their money on trading, if even they start trading...

NYSE Specialist - Stay or Go - vote here

Should the specialist Stay or Go? Stay. :)

Price Action. Please clarify something for me

Using price only, you will observe price channeling up or down (eg YM). Each upmove or downmove ending with a BO into the following on contra-move. Gyrations: it is as simple and as hard as that. :)

    War

Well no doubt about it, if it wasn't for the Iraq quagmire, may be US missiles would have already gone in and blown the living f**k out of all of Iran's nuclear facilities.

    Timeframe for support and resistance

S&R is very much a side consideration, if even that. You have to get your great big muncher into some of all the points made available to you each day (eg YM). :)

Why do We Make Trading so Difficult?

Its hard to say what will work because almost all are astray together. The thrust, push and construct of human activity is social. Therefore reversion to the mean is the overwhelming force .. to be normal that is, to be one of all others, to demonstrate you are part of all, to show you fit...

    Strongest trending markets?

The sum of the gyrations in price cannot be less than the difference between any 2 points A and B in trend or alleged trend. If an alleged trend goes beyond one day (eg YM) the sum of the gyrations will be of the order of trend multiply by 2, 3 or more. Gyrations? That is upmoves and...

For you to become profitable? Doesn't happen. :)

    Sentiment Indicators

The idea of the crowd doing the same is a fantasy. For every 'buy' there is a 'sell' and for every 'sell' there is a 'buy'. Which one belongs to the crowd in any transaction? The buyer or the seller because there is never more sales than there are purchases and vice versa. :)

    zero sum game?????????????

You do not have to prove the obvious. Futures (ie YM) is a zero sum game. Sellers equal buyers and vice versa. It is a game. There are players. I am a player. :)

    "greed"

As I've already said, this was crass stupidity by the culprit. I'd have fired his ass, even if his gamble had been successful. This mother was a loser. Also it does not seem to be realized that Refco was not 'top drawer'. It always had the scent of a cowboy outfit. :)

multiple personalities help traders, or not?

This is simple. You have to be one. One only. If you come into this business in various gradations of being a loser, carefully hidden or not, trading will keep smacking you around like reject debris on the tide. If you are or become an outright big time winner you will be taking no...

    The "Always In" Debate

Well, day trading is about the obvious (eg YM). It is about gyrations. Price goes up and down. If you just follow the live price it tracks in upmoves and in downmoves (say 5min time frame, big enough range bar or big enough volume bar charts). You don't even have to draw in lines to see the...

    "greed"

Your post is about stupidity. You can have an awful lot of greed and ambition, more than most, without being stupid. You have a story about someone who takes a risk way beyond his means. If its anything more .. its a need to lose, to remind himself that ultimately after gain and advantage he...
