    Bull markets and reality

No, the untutored mind, projects any price move, up or down, in the same direction. If going up, the mind projects it continuing up. If going down, the mind projects it continuing down. Its as natural as walking. But accurate trading is another matter altogether. :)

strategies based on the opening price

Quoted prices outside formal market hours lack volume and big players. You can dick around trading smaller volume outside formal market sessions (eg YM). But volume on average is going to keep on increasing within market hours; that is the future. :)

    Volatility

If you have an accurate methodology in place, more volatility just means a bigger pay day for the day. Either you can mark off bigger buy/sells with reference to a larger timeframe or volume charts. Or using a smaller time frame (5min) or smaller range bar charts you can micro trade all the...

    Tick versus Time based bars....

A very very rough estimate is 6000 to 11,000v on YM will equate to 13 30min bars for a 6 & a half hour session. :)

    Thread Moderation

Exactly. Without a few sparks flying any forum becomes dead. Its not just the specialized information of such a website as this which is sought by users, its also the manifold ways people in their various forms of expression can excite and attract an internet audience. :)

    Is Chairmen Bernake Incompetent?

Bernanke is just settling into the job. Sometimes even the smartest person can have a few dumb edges that show and they get dropped. This guy is a cautious mother. I would, if him, go for no base rise on the next FOMC but warn that I am open to further rises if required as the economic...

    Deathly silent on ET recently

I don't really concern myself with the 'why' of the marketplace because it does not put money in my pocket or in anybody else's pocket. The task is only ever to nail down the 'how' of the market and keep filling your pocket with the optimum or max day on day (eg YM). I'm just fresh for each...

Lay & Skilling. Thumbs up or down??

Hitting out with more untrue accusations, just because you tried and failed to get your own snout into the big cash trough. And, dearey me, where are your standards? So, pal, sorry, its time for you to go home to your Mummy with your tail between your legs. You're been a naughty boy making...

Well now all that posturing and puffed up diction .. then bang, bullseye, blown apart from your asshole upwards, as your humbug goes up in flames. You know that I know that you tried and failed to get your own snout into the big cash trough. Sweet dreams, pal. :)

7 Habits of a Highly Succesful Trader

Well, hell, general rules are ok but they don't get you far and they don't get to the bottom line. These 7 are ok too although 4 & 6 are probably more pertinent. Positive self-belief is obvious but still you can see here and now some real loonies with manic optimism placed in their...
