Is the Yen in a deflationary spiral?

They really need that savings to pay off that public debt of theirs. I just looked it up and it says they have the 3rd highest debt as a % of GDP in the world at 170% of their GDP. (#2 is lebanon and #1 is zimbabwe) U.S. is #27 as of 2007, but We probably jumped to around #15 or 16 this year...

Is the Yen in a deflationary spiral?

I really dont know much about the economy of japan, but looking at the Yens strength the last few months, i have to wonder if they are in a serious deflationary spiral. Anyone more familiar with the economy of japan have any insight about it? I know that japan keeps their key rate at near 0%...

Not true. Basic necessities are food, clothing, shelter. So lets say the government provides you those "basic" necessities. They give you a cheap, but sturdy wooden home, plain clothes, and rice, beans, & chicken and to drink only water. Thats your "basic" needs right there. Now...you...

The biggest, and most expensive con in the history of humankind

I was reading this article yesterday about the nigerian 419 scam and how whenever they find a sucker, they go back to the same guy with another scam to try to get more money out of him(usually some kind of scam about how they can get his money back) Then something all of a sudden seems awfully...

Reminiscences of Hard Times to Come

The largest expense in Californias budget is education. About 40% of the states income goes to this and liberals are always whining about how not enough money goes to education. 40%!!! Cut some of that...obviously education is not working as we cant balanace a budget here so why pay for it?

    Come to Kalifornia....LETZ PAATY!

yeah its ridiculous! Look at the 12 propositions we had on the ballot and how plain idiotic it was to vote yes to some of them. PROP 1a(passed)...a 9.95 billion dollar high speed rail that nobody will ever use and most likely end up really costing 40+ billion in the long haul. (not to...

Lets talk about those huge 3x movers & shakers

ETFs like FAZ, ERX, BGZ and the like those things move faster than GOOG. Any of you fools out there trading these things with 10-1 leverage? Looks like as long as you dont use margin, you could really hold out and make a fortune in some of these.

    EOD Rally prediction 12/1/08

Boy i sure called that one wrong huh? Hope not too many of you followed that call. Down almost 700 points now....if I didnt wait so long, i would've gone back and edited my first post and said "Put a stop loss if the dow goes down to -425"

America - only as strong as the citizenry

Not sure I agree with that...but I would be in favor of say a 20 question test that you have to pass in order to vote. The test would consist of 20 policies the candidates stand on and you have to match each policy with each candidate. And there would be no B.S. questions on that test like...

    EOD Rally prediction 12/1/08

Ah look at that now. Looks like Im wrong so far...Dow is down 500 points now. Interesting what you say about human behavior. Actually whenever i make predictions and keep them to myself...they almost always come true. Seems like when i post them for the world to see, it will happen...

    EOD Rally prediction 12/1/08

Because 90% of the time, when the dow is down right from the start of the day and then stays flat all day, it almost ALWAYS goes up end of day. Basically no real economic reason other than everyone sees the dow has been flat all day and expects a rally end of day, but everyone is waiting for...

    EOD Rally prediction 12/1/08

So how far up will the DOW go end of day today? Im guess it will take us up at least 300 points by end of day. Worst case scenario, it stays exactly where its at....So going long right now looks like a great bet. Lets see where we are in an hour.

Housing doom and gloom - ENOUGH already !!

Then look at Sale History 09/02/2005: $699,000 10/17/2000: $230,000 So the house is probably worth more along the lines of 230k since most of the rest of the US housing is around the 2000-2001 levels. That house needs to come down 165k at least. Not to mention the house looks...

    Saudis Want $75 Oil

The truth is that if you go all the way back to 1946 and add up average prices of oil adjusted for inflation, you would see that the average price since 1946 is about 33 dollars per barrel. Heck if you even check out from 1998 to 2007 (adjusted for inflation) you would see an average price of...

    Saudis Want $75 Oil

Yeah because before June of 2007 (when the price first hit $70 per barrel) there was absolutely NO INTEREST in people looking for new oil fields, right? These guys just want to cash out on all their oil before alt. energy comes along and they will be the ones stuck with buying technology...

Why the real estate market will not go bust and DOW 30000 by 2008

Correct predictions do not sell books. People only buy what they want to read about. Nobody wanted to read about how real estate was going to collapse back in 2005 when real estate was going crazy high. You gotta know your market, you cant sell people stuff they dont wanna buy. Like...
