Could gold go to $400,000 per ounce?

Sorry if I didnt make myself a little more clear. Seeing gold at $400,000 was not because I thought Gold was going to be in a speculative bubble, but because i thought of hyperinflation. The same way gold jumped to a 100 million per oz in zimbabwe when it was still 600$ per oz here. I dont...

Could gold go to $400,000 per ounce?

This is really just a random thought i had about gold and the 11.3 trillion we have in deficit. If the government wanted to hyperinflate out of our debt with the least amount of pain possible, instead of having years and years of hyperinflation trying to pay off the debt with more and more...

Want to buy gas for a 25 cents per gallon?

Eventually the government will have to go back on the Gold standard or the silver standard. But they wont do it until that 11.3 trillion is paid off and that can only be paid off with hyperinflation.

Dollar, treasuries, and reserve currency thoughts

Unshakable huh? So i guess this means that we can print 10 trillion dollars tommorrow and they will still take our money? Wow...that sounds like a good deal for us! After all...their trust in our monetary policy is unshakeable meaning there is NOTHING we can do to shake it...there is no...

MARKET vs. LIMIT Order - Any Difference?

Never use market orders. You ever see a stock that normally trades say in the 16 dollar range then see it spike down to 15 on a 100 share order and go right back to 16? Thats a market order where they basically just screwed someone for 1 dollar. If you want a market order to sell, then hit...

Want to buy gas for a 25 cents per gallon?

You forget to factor in the velocity of money. If i buy a bad ass stereo for one 1oz gold coin today, and tommorrow the store owner buys a beater used car with that 1oz gold coin tommorrow and the car salesman buys a used hot tub the next day with that 1oz gold coin, thats 3oz of gold that has...

Want to buy gas for a 25 cents per gallon?

Funny that you said a gallon of gas was 90 cents in 1990s. an ounce of silver in 1990 was 5 dollars. A 25 cent pre-1964 coin with .18018 silver in it was worth exactly 90 cents.

Here is another article about the supply and demand of silver. Just by looking at the graphs you can tell that silver should be worth more than it is right now.

    Gold, How much is there?

In 2008 about 75.7 million ounces of gold was pulled out of the ground. Gold production has actually been in a slight decline since 2005. Its hard to find information that tells you how much gold is consumed in industry though. But here is an interesting article regarding silver and its...

Will Gold continue down next week?

I say take your profit. You are shorting gold during the worst economic crisis in the history of the world. It just sounds plain crazy. Nobody knows if gold spot is going to go up or down because of the banks manipulating it right now. Personally, i dont know how gold is under 1,000 per...

    Government's unpayable debts?

Here are the rules...The government is allowed to benefit from their own ponzi scheme. You are not....well you are...but not if the government loses big. There are things you can do that seem like they will make you alot of money from an economic collapse, but do not think the government is...

Want to buy gas for a 25 cents per gallon?

A gallon of gas cost about 25 to 28 cents in 1960. Average gas prices as of today across the US is 2.62 per gallon. A pre-1965 quarter has .18018 oz of silver in it. Todays silver prices are about 15 dollars per oz. A pre-1965 quarter has $2.71 worth of silver, so a gallon of gas still costs...

Taking 320K to 3.5million by Year End 2009

I dont normally post in peoples journals but I just thought i would point out that it seems that the point in which you started to lose money is the same point in which the markets started to rally. Seems like you made the bulk of your money during the downtrend and since you made alot doing...

Will the collapse of the dollar empty your trading account?

Or maybe just your bank account. In Argentina when the collapse was just starting to happen and people were taking their money out of the country, the government, to stop that, closed all the banks. I dont know if they closed peoples brokerage accounts or not(but im assuming they did if...

    jobless claims not dropping much

If i have a business with 10 employees and I have to cut back 7 employees 1 week and only 2 employees the next week, does that mean my business is recovering because i cut back less employees the second week even though i only have 1 employee left? Thats what these economists are trying to...

Attempt to smuggle 134 billion in US bonds in a suitcase?

The money does not belong to an individual or a government. It belongs to AIG or one of the other TARP receivers. Yeah, now you know why banks are not loaning money out...they are smuggling it to switzerland! :P

    How much do you spend?

I spent 83,525 in cash last year (i keep track of every daily purchase i make) But I also bought a house, so 30k of that is downpayment. If i count the incentives the builder gave me that i used for closing costs, then right around 95k i spent last year. On normal years though I try to...
