    Worst wall street movie ever?

A couple of guys on here are actively on desks; one of them was the head of a desk that now works on the buy-side. They all liked the movie as it was a character study. In that aspect it wins, but it's a house built on mud with that plot.

    Are these 2 diversifying strategies.

I would toss Augen out. Sinclair is good, but from the position of a single-name MMing operation. Your not going to locate routine vertical edge that is beyond NBBO (Sinclair). Calendar edge is a whole different risk. Lots of edge but harder to trade. It's always best to cover than hedge when...

    Worst wall street movie ever?

You simply need to suspend disbelief during the first half-hour. That the entire firm would have no clue where their sheet is stressed... vol-shift; DVO1>>>armageddon. If legit, they would know their marks to the day. They tried to compensate when Demi Moore (paraphrasing) stated "I warned you...

You won't get a single sub at that price point unless you're running something like 3x risk. No chance.

Well then it failed on that basis (true story). I liked the movie, but the central plot (uncovering the risk hole) was preposterous.

    Are these 2 diversifying strategies.

No, the IC will be either overwhelmed by the delta in the P/C hedge, or it will be no hedge at all. The long flies and short C/Ps are simply increasing your gamma risk. You tail-risk increases; corr goes to one and you die. It's a concentration strategy, not diversification.

My Sharpe was around 2, but it would've been higher but each leg was stressed individually, not the whole. I ran each position in a production account as well and did better, as the haircut was lower and I used limit orders. I was forced to use market orders on C2 (100% marketable rating)...

I made ~$20k from my C2 subs over three years or so. Granted, I had the top performing system on C2 over that period (1,300% return). Mine was a option-system that required spreads and combos. I never used their marketing capabilities as I never intended to market it. You will do better on C2...

I admit I don't understand bitcoin, but find it interesting

BTC is great if you're on the credit side of the transaction. It serves no purpose to spend it, only to receive. Accumulate what you can and convert to precious metals. I will never buy a consumable with BTC. Barring that, it's a great tradable if you can trust the dealer and can use a...

    Worst wall street movie ever?

Legitimate films? WS2, Margin Call. No detail on WS2 as it was too insipid to discuss. Margin Call... you wake up one day and one fucking guy realizes there's a prob with Li's copula! Carry over the 2.... oh shit. Sell the certificates! The story was laughable, but the cast was fantastic. They...

Yet another Jack Hershey Trading Method

Hershey has a post on here in which he discusses his fictional CV in some detail. He talks about some engineering gig and leaving it when he was making his yearly salary in a few days of trading. He also talks about some UN gig at the North Pole. I shit you not. CNBC wants to talk to some...

Yet another Jack Hershey Trading Method

My comments are accurate. They're bad in the sense that you don't approve of being called a scammer. You were caught lying about fills (price didn't touch) and you still lost money on the calls. You trade $110k of OPM. I don't think anything else needs to be stated.
