Jubak Gets Bearish: "Correction Over, Right?. No. The Debt Bubble Is About To Burst"

Jubak's right on the money. It's so obvious: we've got too much government for this economy to support. Everyone's on the payroll. We can't compete internationally any longer as these people are not doing anything really productive. Anyone hear of massive firings at the local, state, or...

Really ? I'm ready to hire you Dude ! See below from API forums: The confusion over the reqIDs method alone is "telling" . These posts are within the last 4 months.

    Open Letter to Interactive Brokers

Oh, I love that quote above. Get this: I'm with a great brokerage, best people, always listening, very responsive in that regard, platform is solid, but listen to this: Daily bar charts are "broken" in the sense that Volume is not reported for every day. I mentioned it 8 weeks ago. No action...

    Open Letter to Interactive Brokers

Look guys, based on my experience with them and their API (also roundly criticized I might add !), it's obvious they are simply short-handed in both technical support and customer service departments. So they're just following the rest of American business today with this "shareholder value"...

does anyone wanna share the ts platform with me?

It's a valid question. With IB, you've got to build your own trading platform....there is no programmability with TWS...you've got to use C#, Java, VB, or (shudder) C++ and their dreaded, warty API. It will take you 10x as long to build a trading system with backtesting compared to building one...

Anyone here use one of the latest Macs as their tradestations?

Interesting.....wonder why Steve Jobs had bashed Java so badly recently ? http://blogs.msdn.com/sprague/archive/2007/01/18/java.aspx

c++ or java for trading app development

This is kind of crazy, but what about VB6 as a rapid dev environment ? The final version of the run-time lib is fast and DLL's and ActiveX components can be built with it. Also, many programmers have cringed at VB.NET and that horribly verbose code. Big caveat: no more support from MSFT for VB6.

Media has many great spots.....Iron Hill Brewery is nice....spacious and great beer ! State Street - just above Baltimore Pike. I'd say it's 5 minutes from the Blue Route Media exit. Parking is decent...better than Center City !

Advice you wish you had gotten in your early 20s

This from someone (not me) that built an internet company at the worst possible time (post 2000 crash): 1) Get and stay out of your "comfort zone" (not much happens when you stay in there !) 2) Never give up (You're closer than you think) 3) Focus on what you want to have happen 4)...

    "Classic" IB tech support

No they aren't....they haven't be provided the necessary "tool" to fetch true 1 minute OHLCV bars. Had THAT been provided in the API, then the angst would be reduced. Both API functions reqMktData and reqHistoricalData have been proven to have reliability and performance problems. Look, I'm...

    "Classic" IB tech support

Let's get "real" ... here is a recent comment from a "roque" IB API forum that it is not censored: It (TWS API) is a nightmare. If you look at the sample C++ code you will see that they generate a tick size event when a new tick price event happens then they send the same tick size event...

    "Classic" IB tech support

Thanks, and that is good news....but again, this was not communicated by your support people. It appears not everyone is on the same page there....indicating poor communication of technical info. (Note: only geeks in California or Washington state can get away with that !)
