More importantly, these guys had to create their own trading platform. I remember from the book it was over a million lines of C++ code. Man, that is incredible. Today, we have the luxury of having these powerful platforms already built like Ninja Trader, Multicharts, Sierra, Think or Swim, etc.

I did read the book which was great, but I don't remember the mention of the 5 minute bar length. I do remember the average win rate of 52% though.

Exactly Zandty....especially the big banks: 1) no net interest margin 2) few new loans being made; stringent criteria 3) hugh loan default write-offs Their only hope is in their fixed income and equity trading divisions.

The algos do a phenomenal job of creating these sharp PB's and HWB Retracements.......just to shake you out of the market and take-out your stops.

Agreed. We're likely to hear the SOS.....interest rates near zero, inflation can go to the moon, etc. Only thing of interest would be a comment on the need for more stimulus....extended unemployment benfits, more PPP, etc., etc.

Zandty....so we are in a "minor" recession right now ? The market is up due to Fed stimulus and hopes for a vaccine by year-end....and tech is carrying the market up based on some of them reporting stellar earnings.

I agree with this...and trading with E-Mini Micros you are likely paying 50% more in commission costs and exchange fees than with the big contracts. I know I am thru Interactive Brokers. It really sucks.
