Looking to change jobs....here is my strategy

Yes around $150K. I don't see how anyone could misinterpret that since it's how new housing is marketed all the time. ("Pricing from the mid-200's!") I'm a direct but I know the average software contractor up here is making *at least* $60/hour on the low end. $70/hour is closer to average.

Looking to change jobs....here is my strategy

Yup take the promotion and run. I've been in similar situations myself and was forced to change to catch up pay wise. Your best shot at negotiating a pay increase is with a new company. Your current employer won't give you a big raise.

Looking to change jobs....here is my strategy

Unless you know software professionals who are making 100k+ in your area then you're probably gonna hafta resign yourself to your pay reality. Killing it in a job interview will get you an offer but they simply won't overpay if the market's soft.

Your misinterpretation of what I said was hilarious. Thanks.

Looking to change jobs....here is my strategy

I'm surprised no one hasn't suggested moving where the $$$ is. Sure, Florida is relatively inexpensive to live in but there's no core industry hub (except Disney lol) to drive pay. OP, you're grossly underpaid. You wanna make mid-100's like I and many other software guys do? Move to the...

Clean Coal Technologies (CCTC) on the Move!

Anyone with half a brain knows that "clean coal" is an oxymoronic marketing term from the coal industry lobby. I'd short this mofo if anything.

    Here's my automated trading platform

I don't understand why someone would tie themselves to the windows platform like this. I wrote my own autotrading/backtesting platform too, but it was in C++ and completely platform-independent. My main motive was to run on Linux primarily but also windows if need be. There are plenty of...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Is Sanders the main one pushing the FTT right now? Since he's 73, realistically how much longer will he be able to carry this torch? I'm not seeing anyone else (with any influence) talking up the FTT.

    Large sorting in R

Databases handle sorting and selecting within large data sets quite handily. No need to hold all the data in RAM on a monster computer to crunch it.

    Conservative Options Trades

IB doesn't really have a tool that spits out the probability of expiring OTM for a specific option. (At least not that I've found). My own tool just uses the Black-Scholes formula and got the same OTM probability for the Jan 2016 45 put as oldnemesis. You just have to know the days to...

C# Code to get Cointegration of stocks

I recently got the Johansen cointegration test working in C++ if anyone cares. It's a port of the C# code posted by Vanna over at quantcode. https://github.com/stevegee58/JohansenCointegration

Health insurance individual mandate investor/trader(not considered self employed)

You're right. They can't verify it without an audit. It's been in the news lately that your chances of being audited are the lowest in a decade so I wouldn't worry about it.
