NYSE Completely Halted. WSJ Web Site Down too. WTF?

I'm so used to being lied to and "managed" that I have the smell of BS in my nostrils at all times.

Playmate of the year is a successfull daytrader, see how easy it is?

I suspect she wakes up at 0500 because she's on the left coast and the market opens at 0630 for her.

Veritaseum Puts Wall Street on the Bitcoin Blockchain

Reggie always struck me as a smart, articulate guy. I'm still on a fence as to whether he's 100% legit or not.

    Another BS statement re IV?

Holy shit dude. You need to get a grip.

    Another BS statement re IV?

As long as the net debit of your debit spread (i.e. max risk) isn't more than 1-2% of your account there's not need to worry. Looking at the daily swings of the individual legs of the spread is meaningless.

    Another BS statement re IV?

Just remember that it was a short straddle position initiated by rogue trader Nick Leeson that brought down Barings Bank. Like an unhedged short call position, short straddles have theoretically unlimited risk.

    Equivalents to SPY

I was gonna say it's OK to by 2 or 5 or whatever shares of SPY as long as your commission structure is favorable like at IB. You'd be paying a $1 ticket to enter and exit which isn't bad at all.

    Equivalents to SPY

I don't understand why you're not simply using SPY directly. Do you have a small account and SPY is too expensive?

Meh 300 is like 1.5% which is nothing. I assume you're being facetious about it being dirt cheap.

    Black Monday

I changed jobs a few months ago and my new 401K is still all in cash. With the market going up and up with no meaningful correction I figured I'd just wait for one. Maybe it's finally coming. LOL I just realized there are 5 other threads named "black monday" here.

Looking to change jobs....here is my strategy

I don't know how PMs are able to look at themselves in the mirror in the morning without gagging. Like headhunters and realtors, PMs have no tangible skills and don't actually produce anything. I'll stick with my people - the mud men. :D

Looking to change jobs....here is my strategy

Back in the day I knew contractors with no health insurance. (One poor bastard had a stroke and was wiped out financially - different story) Of course you can't do that now. Last time I looked, family health insurance was around $1-2K/month depending on coverage. For a 2000 work hour year I...
