    Blackbox ETF Trading System

Why pay someone with sketchy credentials for an ETF rotation strategy when you can make your own? Just google "ETF rotation strategies" Here's one I used as a starting point. The author wrote several other very well thought-out articles on variations of this theme. At Quantopian there are...

How do day traders and investors pay their taxes?

Dude you've clearly never done your own taxes before so you probably shouldn't be trading either.

    stop loss determination

You might want to have a look at Van Tharp's "Trade Your Way To Financial Freedom". Don't be put off by the title. He covers position sizing and trade expectancy pretty thoroughly.

    stop loss determination

You can do both at the same time. Set the actual stop order according the the chart or ATR or whatever. Then size you position such that the loss when the stop is hit is X% of your account.

What To Expect With A Trump Presidency

Once everyone realizes how limited any president is by the office itself, all uncertainty will disappear. In spite of his bluster, Trump is heavily limited in how much good/damage he can do.

    Ki$$ Trick

eganon69 is right, but bet progressions do affect 1) how many bets you'll make before BK and 2) the average maximum balance over thousands of runs. Here are 6 popular bet progressions in a game with a R:R of 1 with a 48% chance of winning: NO_PROGRESSION: average max balance: 30.632000...

Meet the DIY Quants Who Ditched Wall Street for the Desert

The best strategy you have seen in public place includes ET

The scariest thing about my post is that nobody saw that the Amazing Strategy is a plausible sounding joke system.

Without a doubt this is the best strategy I've ever seen anywhere on the internet: Amazing Strategy

Life span of a Desktop PC

It depends on what you mean by a "new PC". I've had the same case for 10 years and along the way I've replaced the power supply and motherboard. At what point did I have a new PC? It's way cheaper doing your own upgrades and repairs than buying new.

    Computer problem, Malware, Virus...

At the very least it's good practice to have 2 computers: 1 for general web surfing (and porn and illegal downloading) and 1 for business (i.e. trading) Something I've been experimenting with just over the last couple of weeks is Qubes which gives the same protections on a single computer by...

    Raspberry Pi project ideas

No. These little ARM processors like the RPi and BeagleBone simply don't have the CPU/RAM to run even small Java applications. The IP TWS is a very large memory-intensive Java application.

C++ Programing : Principles and Practice (Enough ?)

Speaking of github and c++, here's what I use currently (and have used for years) for my IB API: https://github.com/JanBoonen/TwsApiCpp This fellow has been maintaining this c++ adapter to the IB API for quite a while and I've found the class abstraction to be very useful.

C++ Programing : Principles and Practice (Enough ?)

Everything you can do in IB's Java API you can do in C++. Their API isn't magic; it's just a function call layer on top of a sockets interface. Regarding your original post, learning a programming is only like 5% of what you need to know to design software. Maybe another 10% comes from CS...

    Programming Automated Trading

What is the nature of the patterns your setup is looking for? I've seen several approaches such as Toby Crabel's "Day Trading with Short Term Price Patterns and Opening Range Breakout" where he did statistical studies of 2, 3, 4, and 5 bar patterns. Also, they're doing this sort of thing very...

    Router Refresh solution

It's not genius, it's kludgy. Instead of cobbling together a Rube Goldberg setup to cope with junky hardware why not just go spends a few $$$ and buy something decent. Look for good ratings on places like cnet.com and tomsguide.com.

    Router Refresh solution

It sounds like you're using (i.e. renting) your ISP's cable modem. It's far safer and cheaper to shop around and buy your own to manage yourself. Your ISP should be a vanilla pipe to the internet and nothing more.
