Google Finance follows Yahoo: real time datafeed

You sure Yahoo has free real-time quotes? I think the free data from Yahoo is all delayed.

It's because the news broke that they've stopped issuing OEM licenses for Windows 3.11: slashdot.com

    Urgent Message From Rennick

Gee thanks Rennick! I shorted 2 YM at 11229, covered 1 at 1R (11201) and trailing a stop on the last. I guess we're ballin'.

    Hedge fund for tax sales

You could only get a tax sale deal if the property were owned free and clear by the owner (no lien). In the current lending environment, that seems highly unlikely. Chances are, a bank has the title to the "walked away" property. They're not going to simply give it away.

    Trading with yourself?

Um, the intent of painting the tape is completely different from what the OP wants to do. That's creating artificial activity in an issue through a cabal of traders focusing attention on it. Here's an example of what he's asking, I think. Say you have a normal non-tax-deferred trading...

Is it possible to use IB for long-term options trading in a Roth IRA?

I also looked at TOS and it looked that way to me also, on paper. Turns out IB IRAs can do most anything just like TOS. TOS has *such* a nice platform, though, but that's a separate subject.

Is it possible to use IB for long-term options trading in a Roth IRA?

I think the business about aggregate exercise value means you can't borrow against it to open more positions. That makes sense for an IRA. Even though you can have a margin style IRA, it's restricted. In a normal margin account (not tax deferred) you can open more positions by borrowing...

Is it possible to use IB for long-term options trading in a Roth IRA?

I know which page on the IB web site you're referring to Binary. It *looks* like you can't do squat in an IRA except buy stock and long options. But I think that only applies to cash-style IRAs. And you apparently can only do option spreads with European-style options (yuck). Again this just...

Is it possible to use IB for long-term options trading in a Roth IRA?

Don't know about Roth, but my rollover IRA is a margin type and you can do option spreads, futures, etc. Basically just no naked calls. But you can do vertical spreads, calendar spreads, butterflies, etc.

Tsk tsk. Didn't do all your homework, huh? You'll have to use qcharts.com or esignal.com to get real tick data.

Hmmm. The thread title got my attention because I'd seen something with the exact same name a while back: http://www.trading-naked.com/FloorTraderMethod.htm

High Oil Prices , It's All Speculation

Here's some interesting info. Whether you actually believe any of this or not is immaterial since you at least get to look at Poppy Harlow for a few minutes: http://money.cnn.com/video/ft/#/video/fortune/2008/07/08/fortune.prins.oil.fortune

My high school summer job: trading the NQ

Hey zdawg, just curious. Why'd you switch from YM to NQ? YM is somewhat kinder and gentler (if such a thing is possible in futures) than NQ. In fact it kind of begs the question: why trade futures at all? Why not start with day trading something super liquid like QQQQ? You can certainly...

Trading is Bad for your Mental Health

Kinda flies in the face of the whole random entry idea, doesn't it? Ya know, flip a coin and go long or short based on it. Trail a stop based on volatility. Coin tosses don't have a statistical edge, yet the "system" does work over many iterations.

    Tell me about North Carolina

I lived in Cary, NC (suburb of Raleigh) from 1995 to 1999. Cary is jokingly referred to as C.A.R.Y. (Containment Area for Relocated Yankees). The first southerner that I was aware of living in our subdivision was the guy who bought our house. There are many areas of NC that are like the...

    Trading For Living - S&P 500 Market.

I wouldn't assume the OP is a woman, or that "her" pic was of "her" or someone else. After all, if "the camera creates its own reality", this certainly applies to the internet even more so. None of this matters to me as long as I get useful information that I can apply to make money. I...

    SnP500 Trader on youtube

I watched a couple of his videos and he seems sincere and what-not. When he said I needed to spend all weekend watching every video for the last 6 months to understand his methods, I moved on.
