    Futures prop firms ?

Isn't it interesting that none of the larger prop firms are doing futures very much....Bright, Echo, Swift, Shoney, Assent, etc. ? Good reason: There's no money in it for them.

    Stocks going through the floor

Well, this makes sense given the fact that interest rates are about half of what they should be thanks to our beloved Fed and the cooperation of the other world banking systems. However, this liquidity bubble won't burst until someone blinks first...that would be "helicopter Ben", and he ain't...

Trading sucks, dont waste your time

All of the "head faking" gotten to you then ? (Level II is so bogus....I don't watch it anymore.) Or was it the nano-second trend length ?

    TWS 872.6 problems

See prior posts.....IB is the McDonalds of retail brokerage.... low cost = low numbers of personnel. For instance, there's ONE GUY testing the API. Best for you to move to the Bloomberg platform...rock solid....$1800/mo with 2 year min contract. Autotrading component licenses for $100k.

My Experience at a Prop Firm

Good idea. However, what about compensation ? How would that be determined / computed ? 1) pooled P&L 2) individual trader P&L 3) combination of the above 4) salary 5) small percentage of AUM 6) formula using all of the above

    60,000 down the drain

SIRI ? OH WOW, you were so fooled by Cramer and Mel Karmazon !!! Cramer was mombo bullish on SIRI about 18 months ago. The hype was incredible....and so was the bullshit.

CME ... needs to merge ?

It is so totally ridiculous that the CFTC is even considering to allow the CME to merge with competitors.....absolutely outrageous given this entity has become nothing but a "printing press" for profits. Merger = higher rates for traders. BEND OVER, BOYS.

Algo trading raises stakes for market regulators

Agreed. Article was way off base even mentioning Leeson and LTCM. Those were people making the trades. People will make mistakes, machines will make mistakes. As long as markets remain liquid and freely traded, there will be equality between the big losers and big winners whenever an "event"...

    NFA Complaint with IB

Really ? Let's see...IB has now IPO'd. Would they have been able to do this without the proper accounting ? The NFA is starting to look like the SEC and CFTC....trying to justify their pathetic existence. USA: Too much regulation, too many regulators, too many agencies....time to move to...

    Legalised crooks

You can't be serious. TWO BUCKS ? Was this on the NYSE ? What was the average daily volume for the stock ? I have heard of a case at Interactive Brokers where an errant API stop order to Sell was $10 under the market and the specialist took it down there and filled it only to have the market...

Best Thing for U.S. Economy: Raise Taxes

EXACTLY. Imagine the tens, no HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of unemployed tax accountants and the like. The devastation of the IT consulting business over the past 5 years would be nothing in comparison. I don't know who's involved or heading the accounting lobby, but they're doing a fantastic job...

best prop firm to short stocks?

I'll be honest with you...."with integrity".... I don't think it's possible. I was with a Prop firm and we got almost <any> shorts within 30 minutes. However, I don't believe they were "following the rules" regarding offsetting capitalization and risk. Of course, when I tried to leave this...

    TWS 872.6 problems

But it's kind of crazy....Java was meant to be transparent to the operating system.....it looks like IB is doing some conditional coding based on the O/S.....not good, not good at all.
