When exactly can you use the money you get from the sale of one stock to buy another

If you have a cash account it's T+3 accounting. Your money is tied up for 3 days while the transaction settles. With a margin account it's not an issue. You can buy and sell shares all day long.

I think I'm out for now, reinvesting gains into a house.

Interesting trading pattern. No spreads, just straight calls and puts. Most trades opened 1-2 days before expiration. Most trades held 0-1 days (about half were 1 day).

I think I'm out for now, reinvesting gains into a house.

This "I'm out for now" attitude is something I've felt after doubling my money at the Black Jack table. I don't see a place for it in financial markets.

Too Simple to Work? Advice Needed

The human eye/brain is drawn to things that look like what you're searching for, in this case it's winning trades. The result is something called "confirmation bias". It means you're getting excited about a chart that shows winning trades and not looking at charts with losers. For trend...

Question from someone who know absolutely NOTHING about programming

HFT isn't the only reason to use C++. (In fact HFT doesn't gain its speed from fast processing but by having a strategic location within the network between traders and market servers.) For trading systems that involve traditional indicators then Easy Language is fine. But if you have a...

Legal to sell covered calls on company stock you own?

Just because you're an employee does not mean you're necessarily an "insider". Strictly insiders are those with non-public knowledge about big things that can move the stock. Generally that only applies to executive level people, not regular employees.
