    Direxion Monthly Leveraged ETFs... when?

http://www.emii.com/Articles/217691...raged-ETFs.aspx Any idea when these will be made available? They would be great for swing trading without using margin.

anyone using a solid state drive ?

They obviously have faster data access due to no moving parts. However over time they are less stable and the data will decay and lose it's integrity.

Using options to compensate for 3x ETFs' deficiencies

Thanks, Winston. If there isn't a way to use these etfs for anything but intra-day trading, then I really don't know why they exist. You might as well simply use brokerage margin on ES. With the recent DXO liquidation it would probably be wise to stay away from these anyway.. they really...

Is there are option strategy that can be used on let's say TNA to curb the effects of the compounding decay over time?

Most volatile instrument + good liquidity?

You are right. I should have specified non-margin volatility. ie. the kind that is baked right into the asset. :D At this point it would probably be TNA call options. It has small-cap volatility, yet has a much more liquid option chain than most small-caps.

Most volatile instrument + good liquidity?

The only one what I can think of would be TNA (3x small cap ETF). Couple that one with long options and you have a perfect storm! Any others?

    Forex is a scam

Who said you have to day-trade? Forex and futures provide you with enough liquidity that you can put in a large position without having to worry about large amounts of slippage and getting out of your position when you need/want to. Aside from counter-party risk with fx, most of the risk...

Best way to make concentraded bets on S&P500?

I would like to allocate part of my person funds to a strategy that puts on a position on the SP500 a few times a year (for example at points of retail capitulation such as happened in March). I would like to be able to use fairly high amounts of leverage while reducing the risk of getting...

New wave of mortgage resets in 2010-12

I believe you are correct on the option adjustable rates. In fact, this might tell you when the FEDs would even consider raising interest rates and might help timing the USD. The Alt-As are the ones I am eying as potential trouble makers. I question is: Where these offered with supressed...

New wave of mortgage resets in 2010-12

Anybody saying that the worst is over for housing and/or the economic in general simply has not done their homework. While the next wave of remaining teaser rate mortages to reset are mainly of higher grade than the sub-primes, the fact that this next phase will occur at a time when the U.S...

    Forex is a scam

It is true that stocks can be easier to trade and are less manipulated since the bog boys are simply not concerned with them. HOWEVER, you will at one point run into liquidity problems with stocks. They can be very expensive to trade, due to slippage. Also, you should realize that you are...
