The controlled chaos of latin american countries is quite an interesting economic model. But I agree, you must live it in the flesh to understand it. Is there much outsourcing happening in argentina?

Well yes, but if you where to buy your own production you will still lack the money flowing inwards. It's not very different from running a compnay, if others buy what you sale you have cashflow, if you buy your own production you have Enron.

Pit trader looking to move off the floor

That's a good question. I think it's got something to do with the logical thinking requierd to program computers, as well as being able to transmit your ideas to an automated trading system, and thus becoming more efficient.

I haven't forgotten the human side. Im just looking at things from the other side of the fence. Each US citizen that gets fired feeds several Chinnesse citizens. With the model of tariffs you propose you obtain the same result, delaying the problem. You're not dealing with the problem itself...

Ok, you are right about the trade deficit. However you haven't properlly analised what it means. In simple terms it means that more wealth is leaving the US than is entering the US [when you sell you get money when you buy someone else gets it]. What this means is that the average person in...

The only thing that tarrifs may acomplish is delaying the problem and making it into a bigger snowball. That and they create inefficiencies all over the market, there's plenty of profits that simply evaporate into death zones when you put tariffs. Besides under the current geopolitical scenario...

Regarding your CV. A wise friend once told me. When you apply to a financial institution you want to let them know that you´re going to make them a lot of money. So basically let them know with plenty of numbers the kind of risk/exposure that you have been able to handle in the past, what...

Yeah. We still think that it is the next world war. But I wonder if when people look back on us 100 years from now... when would they say the war started, perhaps 2001? At this moment we have conflicts all over the planet, we still don´t have one mayor conflict involving most of the world but...

For the guys in Vietnam is actually an improvement. They have a job now. In other countries, such as those of Latin America, we have jobs that pay more money doing all the IT work... For those who have a career in IT is a great opportunity, it´s helping the per capita income grow quite fast...

There are some jobs that are impossible to outsource due to their nature. Such as construction related jobs {engineering, architecture, and so on}, services that are provided directly such as a chef or a nurse. There are other jobs that are not easy to outsource because of the infrastructure...

Outsourcing is great. It brings high paying jobs to third world countries and takes em away from US citizens... It forces people to become more specialized in order to survive, is either becoming specialized or becoming extinct... Pure Darwinism with a twist of social justice... If you´re a...
