    Another new trader

Traders who actually make money aren't so condescending. To the OP: Listen to mama nodoji. She knows her shit.

    Cassie's Pictorium

Just to make it PERFECTLY CLEAR, I would like to take Rennick's comments one step further. Definitely no men on the uncensured site, please. (probably goes without saying.)

    Cassie's Pictorium

Sure. It will be embarrassing when they track it to my mother's basement, though.

    Cassie's Pictorium

Yeah right. Doesn't apply to me pal. Just thought they were some good pics. Do you over react like that when you trade, also?

    Cassie's Pictorium

The Love theme was some pretty classy stuff. Very nice, me lady.

    Great system but no b*lls

Donna, whatchu mean by a minimum monthly profit target? I thought you were a "trade the system, and let it roll" kind of girl. Regardless of outcome.

Hotkey error in Sterling Trader Pro

Well the obvious question must be asked. Do you have the right account loaded in the hotkey setup window?

    Great system but no b*lls

Seems to me you might be running into the PDT rule if you are retail though.

    Great system but no b*lls

Yes, a 10 cent move in the SPY = a one point move in the ES. So one ES tick would equal 2.5 cents, or 2.50 on 100 shares. Yes, you would need 13k in buying power.

    Great system but no b*lls

500 SPY = 1 ES contract. Might want to start with 100 SPY.

    Great system but no b*lls

You're afraid to lose, even after all of those paper "profits". Something in your gut may be telling you the transition from paper to reality isn't realistic. There's only one way to find out, and that's by jumping in. Just do it with the smallest possible position size. Who cares if that...

    What books to read?

Chuck Hayes is in prison for falsifying the records for his hedge fund. When he was portrayed in that book, he was not profitable. Be careful what you read.

    No. That's reserved for Donna.

    Probability of Next Trade

And what makes you think there is memory in all systems? When I run my automation tomorrow, why does BRCD care about what GS did a few minutes ago? I mean no disrespect, and you are miles ahead of a lot of us mathematically. But intuitively I just can't grasp it. We are obviously running...

    Probability of Next Trade

I know it seems silly to even consider any trade has anything to do with the next, but if someone wants to backtest it, it may be fun to see the results. It seems like most of us here are in agreement that a winning system should just be traded, rather than being analyzed trade for trade.

    Probability of Next Trade

Well, I wouldn't want to argue with RD. I didn't know that, and it's very interesting. I just have to wonder why. It wouldn't seem like a statistically outlying winner would have any impact on whether the next trade is a winner or a loser. It almost seems superstitious in a way. Then again...

    Probability of Next Trade

Ditto. I'm at about a 45% win rate, with a risk reward which makes me profitable. Today it was a 75% win rate. Yesterday, more like 20%. The last trade has nothing to do with the next. If you wait for a couple of losers before putting on the next trade, you will be giving up opportunity...

    Gifted and Talented Traders

I just don't have the patience for this. Hats off to you. Perhaps if I didn't have automation as a back stop, I would be more inclined to be this tenacious, and would subsequently be better at manual trading. More to the point of the thread, I was a very good drummer in my day. Went to...

    Gifted and Talented Traders

#1 for me, but only because of automation. I've known how to trade for years and years, but I just can't make it happen manually. I don't know if it's a discipline thing or what, but I've pretty much given up on it. :( For now, anyways. My computer (because of a brilliant colleague/...
