    31 Heroes Crossfit WOD. 9/3/2011

http://31heroes.com/ I just got into Crossfit a few months ago, and I think this is a great idea. You can register with an affiliate near you, or just work out on your own and have a t-shirt sent directly to you. Or just work out, or just buy a shirt, whatever. Check it out. I get...

Great Article on Prop firms- Bright, Echo, Maverick Trading, SMB, etc.

I don't get it. Why would a firm be unhappy with someone who is good and is going to be around a while and generate fees? I know nothing about that Tradeco company I mentioned earlier, but it is just something that seems scary. I don't mean to bash them, but maybe it's these fly by night...

Great Article on Prop firms- Bright, Echo, Maverick Trading, SMB, etc.

All I can use is my gut and brains based on damn near a decade of experience. I have never experienced anything remotely close to these worst case scenarios you keep coming up with.

Share some risk? Do you plan on losing money while getting this lower payout? If you're good, why do you care?

something very strange just happened...what do i do?

It sucks, but it happens. If you can, contact the clearing firm directly and find out what is going on. You won't be able to do this until Monday, though. (As far as I know.) Others may have other ideas. Good lick.

Great Article on Prop firms- Bright, Echo, Maverick Trading, SMB, etc.

I'll give it a shot. I've been with echo for a long time now and have no complaints. No lock up, 100% payout, etc. There is a desk fee, but they waive it if you do enough shares. Not to mention the fact that they are nice folks who will work with you. What I really like about them is...

""""The deal now is, going forward, young men and women are going to have to work for it. If you really want to be a discretionary trader, you might have to get a night job. Or a day job while learning to trade markets over night. You are going to have to save your money and once you have enough...

What makes you say an option is overpriced/underpriced ?

We used to have quite a bit of luck gamma scalping the troughs in IV. Our favorite was GS. That graph was screwed up, so I posted SPY instead. Check out the nice Gamma scalp trough between .15 and .2 for a while. Question is, are you layers going to pay for theta? Dis es de question...

Crap. It's the Paul Tudor Jones Frontline documentary from the 80's. Maybe someone else can provide a better link. Tough to get though.

Chris, did you ever get that link to work? Sorry if it's a shitty link. Works fine on my laptop, but maybe it's because it has been viewed on it before.

Oh crap. I see what you mean. It works on my laptop, and my trading machine, but it was saved on both of those long ago.

When you hit the arrow, a popup comes up. Close that, and the arrow should be green. Hit that and the paul tudor jones vid should play.

New day trader, any help appreciated!

I'm not qualified to answer that. Maybe Don, or Mav 74 can pipe in.

New day trader, any help appreciated!

Oh. Understood. BTW, as far as I know, most top notch firms won't have any lock up period. Echo doesn't. I don't think Bright does either. Not sure about Broad Street.

New day trader, any help appreciated!

Scratch that. Wrote too soon after being outside with a beer. there are only a couple of annual fees on that list, and they make sense. Those fees are part of the game. You don't expect some to pay for your fingerprinting, do you? And are you really concerned about a returned check?

New day trader, any help appreciated!

The inactivity fee caught my attention. Been inactive a couple of times and never had to deal with that. And all of the annual fees on top of desk fees. Doesn't make sense. But perhaps I'm spoiled.

New day trader, any help appreciated!

I've been with Echo for years, and I have no reason to leave. But I just got a call the other day from some company called Tradeco. 95% payout and no license needed, with promises of refining me into an "elite trader". That cracked me up. What the hell is that? Sounds like something I...

Who rides motorcycles here? Lets see them!

Grew up riding YZ125's and 250's Haven't ridden for years. I definitely miss it. But you couldn't pay me to ride on 2 wheels in public. All of the punks who text and drive scare the shit out of me. Anyway, what's the point if you can't be off the ground for 2 or 3 seconds at a time?
