    Opinions on Interactive Brokers?

TWS is a great platform, with a lot of flexibility. But it does require a learning curve. I suggest you open a demo account and give yourself time to learn. It may help you to begin with the TWS "Classic" view.

Need to eliminate the big losses

Happy Thanksgiving...and count your blessings. You didn't go broke while you learned a very valuable lesson. Which is that you aren't a discretionary trader. What you do with that valuable learning going forward will make all the difference in your failure or success.

    Which strategy would you trade?

It would be foolish to trade any of the four. A backtested 'strategy' losing hundreds of trades over 5 years with only a $2,300. draw down does not exist. You might want to put your Etch-A-Sketch away and try another platform.

How to manage risk if I am picking up coins before running trains?

You lower your risk by sizing your positions such that you can survive a worst-case-scenario. You can't ignore the 800-pound Gorilla in the room. Some day he WILL sit on your face. If you can't predict the impact of worst-case-scenarios on your portfolio - and if you can't size for them and...

"Not caring" about the money in order to win big

I hold a special place of pure disgust in my heart for your friend Wade Cook, and I am very familiar with his books and seminars, as following his advice 17 years ago nearly wiped out my account until I became wise to his ways, and those of his ilk. He is a fraud, a scammer, a thief, and has...

"Not caring" about the money in order to win big

Ah, yes, I remember Wade Cook. What a scum bag. I paste below, for your edification, his Wikipedia intro. Wade Bruce Cook (born October 9, 1949) is an American author and self-proclaimed financial guru. Cook claims to have started his success when he was a taxi driver in the 1970s. His first...

Real Estate Taxes - Flipping (US)

You need to protect yourself. Don't assume that buyers won't come after you after closing, because they can and they will. You shouldn't be doing anything in your name.

    Optimization

The difference between a 5 or 20 day MA is the difference between a week and a month. That's a very significant difference if you're trying to use an MA to generate trading signals.

    Two tax questions

That goes to the issue of having "earned income." Trading/investing income is not considered to be "earned income" by the IRS. However, if you create a business entity and pay yourself a "salary", it is classified as "earned", and thus is qualified for treatment as regular income. I am not...

    Protecting position without options

Stops will get hit, and will often reverse. Just accept it as part of the business, move on, and realize that it is the price of protecting yourself from possible catastrophic losses. And try not to get into the habit of jumping back in, hoping you can recover a loss. That isn't a good long...

The Bid Ask spread of UVXY is much smaller than VIX future so day-trade UVXY instead of VIX future?

I agree. For trading intraday the futures suck. The ETFs/ETHs are much more efficient. When you have instruments trading 20 million shares a day with penny spreads, why would you screw around with a futures contract? It certainly hasn't worked for me.
