Trading rooms for beginners at swing trading?

"Trading for a Living" by Alexander Elder would be a good start for you. You can read a thousand books but it will ultimately come down to your own style. Line up a thousand active traders, and there's a good chance that each one is following a different path. Good luck.

Trump showing the world he is a fool, again

Because Kudlow has become one of Trump's key sycophants. And as such, he is expected to say whatever he thinks his boss would like to an hour later on Fox.

Trump showing the world he is a fool, again

Yes, to paraphrase George Bush (another hip president), Trump today went on the internets. Where he discovered that he's - surprise - an asshole.

Trump showing the world he is a fool, again

Had to laugh my ass off. Trump Googles his name and comes up with bad news...and blames the media.

Trump calls for biannual earnings reporting

If I'm holding stock in a public company, I want more disclosure, not less. Letting a company run amuck for six months without a requirement for public reporting is insane. And it's likely to create more volatility, not less.

how would you play this? breakout / pullback / other?

If it opens down in the morning, I view it as a 2-day short as it has set up a triple top. What is the stock?

How to purchase when a stock moves fast

The time to be in the trade is before the move, not during the move, especially near the open. Because once you see it, you're most likely going to get a terrible fill with any order type, and you'll just become somebody's lunch. Or breakfast.

what is your result so far for 2018?

I don't watch any bars. I don't trade based on chart action. I trade based only on what today's open is in relation to recent prices. I set a stop, and exit at the close. While I like charts (an old habit), they aren't required for me to trade, and are often even detrimental. Charts...

I trade 2 instruments. TQQQ and a VIX derivative. Use only daily data. Mechanically traded, never hold overnight. No technical indicators. Only price action. While these are backtested numbers, my statistics are very similar over the same time periods. I post this information to help new...

Interview with a Full Time Trader and CTA

Very nice interview. Particularly nice to hear from someone who walked a similar trading path as mine, during the same time frame. And came away with the same lessons. The market around 2000 put a lot of people out of business. But those of us who managed to hang on and survive the margin...

    trading help

It is not unusual when trading long options to give up 30% just for spreads and commissions. If you were profitable trading the ES, then stay there. And keep a close eye on your stops if you are concerned about potential losses. If you were not profitable, then options are simply going...

    Price action: The holy grail?

I would define price action in even simpler terms. Trend, support and resistance are often subjective and open to interpretation, depending on your time frame, market conditions, mood, etc. etc. So you're likely to be sentenced to hours on end living with charts and struggling with every buy...

    Price action: The holy grail?

How to invest $900K in 2018

If you don't own your primary residence, that should be in your plans. Put the cash in treasuries for 2 years, and wait for housing prices to correct. Then buy right.
