    slippage

I include $20 on each side slippage when testing multi-day strategies with high volume stocks. (assuming 1,000 share lots.) Even so, if a strategy shows only small/fractional gains, then it probably isn't worth pursuing. Much depends on your entry and exit strategy. If you are buying opens...

It seems market bottoms can be predicted

Well, if you really want to add a technical qualification to the talking head system on CNBC, just put John Bollinger in one of those corners when the market is tanking. And start buying. A bit like Hollywood squares. If Elaine Garzarelli is in the center square still babbling on about...

It seems market bottoms can be predicted

It's actually quite a bit easier. Just tune your TV to CNBC. When the screen has a quad split of four talking heads blathering on about why the market is going to hell and why you should "stand aside", it is time to buy.

Great prop shops for an experienced trader

Maverick, if I recall, is an options freak. I stopped drinking that kool-aid a few years ago. When I got smart. He is not me. And I don't appreciate you dissing my first car. My she rest in peace.

Great prop shops for an experienced trader

You're expecting 10:1 overnight leverage and just now expanding a futures strategy to equities? Gosh, I can just imagine the prop shop managers breaking down your door to get to you! LOL. I'm sure we can all forgive Don Bright if he doesn't rush out and Fedex an app to you.

    Acampora Sees Second Half Plunge

No, but I personally don't make a move until I hear what Elaine Garzarelli has to say.

    How much should I charge?

Brings back memories and again underscores the hassles involved with OPM, and without solid contracts. I was trading 1.5 million for a "friend". After 6 months, I had him up 16%, with a flat S&P. Then he gets involved in looking at his trades each day. Bad news. Always happens. He...

    How much should I charge?

On a long list of dumb things to do, this makes the top five. First, it is a bad idea to trade OPM unless you are highly experienced, which you aren't. Not to get personal, but the fact that you are trading options on a limited account isn't indicative of a lot of experience. Second, it...

    What was your first car?

Don, I have to say that's the most eclectic collection of cars I've ever seen. Were you searching for a self-identity? Have you found it? And how did you fit in a 1968 Sprint?

Any profitable traders want to make an extra 20% on top of your monthly gains?

In my experience - I earlier supplied a system - Collective2 is just a curiosity and an interesting source of info for what others are doing. But for trading it is not generally reliable or ready for primetime .

    What was your first car?

A 1960 Renault Dauphine. The starter failed after 2 weeks and I couldn't afford a new one. I always had to park going downhill (really impressed my dates), or have a buddy with me. Fortunately I was going to school in an area with lots of hills. Not a good idea to ever buy a French car...

    TA and Intraday Charts.

I have to disagree with this in a big way. Charts/indicators reflect price/time/volume. In short, trader/investor sentiment. The push and pull of buyers and sellers. The interpretation of those measures - and how one trades on them - is going to be considerably different when moving from...

    Swing Trading

It is not my URL. I have no association with Collective2. Don't belong, don't subscribe, don't know them. But this is one of the few sites where new traders can look at what trades have actually gone down, and learn something from them, without having to register or pay.

    Swing Trading

If you are interested in swing trading, go to the following website: www.collective2.com Click on "Show all trading systems" and look for a system called "Extreme-os". This system is not mine, but very similar to how I trade. At the bottom of the page you will find a list of closed...

    Newb questions

If they bought into Cooper with its declining earnings I would question their fundamental judgement, without even getting into technical issues! If you want to play a bit, PM me with a list of stocks the company has traded/bought in the past year or so. Or, even longer if you prefer...

    I am new

No. Selling for the wrong reason is selling to capture premium, without careful regard for your predicted DIRECTION of the underlying, and your desire and ability to own the underlying if the trade runs against you. You don't appear to comprehend this issue of directional bias. It by far...
